Just received a text from someone down there who doubts we'll get a game as it's fairly steady rain & coming from all directions with very little wind to speak of.

Beamer!!..why you love hang out our dity washing in public man? :D

Oh well the whole thing is a mess..Darren was hit in the nets by that idiot Sammy and for some mad reason young Darren is going home!!..why? because i gather they want to punish him for leaking the TRUTH and not keeping Sammy's poor behaviour from the public domain!! :mad2:

Not bothered though because Sammy is history...and if Gibbo doesn't give Pybus the right answers when they meet in a few weeks then he may well be history too.

As for the team!!..i'm actually happy to see Kirk get a chance..he might not be that good at rotating the strike but he done well in the odi's for the A-team in India recently..scoring a ton if i remember correctly...and he'll just add some patience to that top order instead of just having all gun slingers.

Also the more he plays in these kind of conditions the better..he had a mixed time of it in the test so a good showing here can only do his confidence good.

Ultimately it's gonna be our attack that keeps us in this series!!...Holder, Rampaul and Narine are dangerous...and i can't wait for Kemar to join them again.

Apparently it's bucketing down now. Should clear by around 8ish tonight with beautiful weather forecast tomorrow :)

Yeah Metservice never realises it takes some serious rain for a system to make it over the axial ranges, at least further south anyway. If it's coming in from the coast though you're in trouble.

All the groundsmen who can deliver what they set out to have headed overseas to cash in, haven't they? Perhaps Stoyanoff has encouraged his CD U19 son to be more involved in the preparation of this pitch, and it will be unexpectedly spicy.

fun fact, while doing some digging for Hurricane's much loved domestic vs test batting differences I found KW is our best domestic limited overs batsman with an average of almost 62 from 29 games.

International Coach
A rumour from an unreliable source has come to my attention that Colin Munro is going to take up the gloves in the List A stuff for Auckland to replace Luke Ronchi in the team. McHesson has indicated to him that they like the cut of his jib.
Haha, I'd suggest that's a wildly unreliable source. I've known Manu since he was 15 and not once seen him don a pair of keeping gloves. It's a ridiculous notion - the amount of hard work required to become a passable keeper even at club level would suck energy out of his efforts to become an international-class batsman. But hey, doesn't mean it's not true.

What may be true is he might get another ODI cap today thanks to a reduced match.

I keep forgetting how young the likes of KW and little Bravo are. KW is only 23, which is the same age Taylor made his test debut, and Bravo is a month or so shy of 25, and the pair have 56 tests and 9 tons between them .
