do you really think of this as a revival after what we witnessed over the past few months in both tests and one dayers? that kind of innings against that attack on such a belter? for me it sadly confirms that these kind of tracks and those kind of attacks are all we can be competitive against....and if the windies had batted first, there is every chance the result would've been reversed....

Well, I never said anything about revivals.
All I said was that at least now, our batting has come together. I know it was a flat track and it wasn't the best attack in the world, but still, this can give the guys up the order a bit of confidence.
I am not really sure if our batting is good enough unless the conditions are more than 80% in favour of batting, but at least now, with a bit of confidence behind them, maybe these guys will strike the sort of form that we all know they are capable of.
Gambhir has always looked good whenever he has had the opportunity. Ganguly has looked in good touch since his comeback, even under tough conditions and in the format where he isn't exactly a natural fit. Sachin does look like he can do the job that is expected at no.3 or 4, in the middle overs. Dravid is one man we can always rely on. Dhoni, at least under these conditions, can provide the thrust at the end more often than not. Raina, though he has his technical problems, has come off runs in FC cricket and maybe he will look more like the Raina we saw in the series against England than the one we have seen since. Kaarthick must be full of confidence after the RSA tour and he can be a cheeky player in the middle and end overs and maybe useful in that role. And Joginder and Harbhajan can strike the big blows if required at the end, while Zaheer and Sreesanth aren’t exactly mugs with the bat either.
While I don’t think we have a great batting line up, I think, with a few more scores like the ones at Nagpur (even if the wickets are of the same sort), this line up will turn into a reasonable one, esp. if they get their confidence going and Yuvraj comes back and fits in. I think as an overall package, our side might actually do well in the WC (like the make the semis or something), once our batting comes right. And they are talking of flat tracks for the WC in the Caribbean. Remember the last WC, when we all expected bouncy tracks as is usual in RSA, but we got some flat tracks. I think it is the commercial arm of ICC at work here. For every WC, we get really flat tracks and matches lasting full 100 overs, even if they aren’t exactly good cricket matches

yeah well that means we'll probably make the semis or something as you said and all our problems will still remain unaddressed and the team will continue on its merry(losing & occasionally winning) ways.....
