No worries.

Not sure Broad should have been picked tbh, i'm not sure what his form has been like since returning from injury but i recall him getting slapped all over taunton a few weeks back.

And the bowling attack looks a bit samey to me...

1 Paul Collingwood (Durham, capt), 2 James Anderson (Lancashire), 3 Ian Bell (Warwickshire), 4 Stuart Broad (Leicestershire), 5 Alastair Cook (Essex), Dimitri Mascarenhas (Hampshire), 7 Monty Panesar (Northamptonshire), 8 Kevin Pietersen (Hampshire), 9 Liam Plunkett (Durham), 10 Matt Prior (Sussex), 11 Owais Shah (Middlesex), 12 Ryan Sidebottom (Nottinghamshire), 13 Jonathan Trott (Warwickshire), 14 Michael Yardy (Sussex)

So just as a guess at the side to see what it'll look like:

Cook
Prior
Bell
KP
Trott
Collingwood
Yardy
Plunkett
Sidebottom
Panesar
Anderson

I don't really like the selection of Yardy, as others say he isn't really good enough with bat or ball.

Flintoff, Hoggard & Harmison are all not playing for various reasons - who else would you pick??
Harmison is retired, Hoggard a Test specialist, so Flintoff would reallty be the only one to complement this from the known England players.

I'm struggling to find better bowlers than the selected lot, but at the same time the list doesn't inspire a lot of faith either.
Some left-field options could have been Bruce, Kirtley, Martin-Jenkins or Godknowswho and I still would probably have doubted thier combined feasibility as an ODI-class attack.

Tremlett has a good List A record, and a pretty good record this season too. Whenever I've seen him bowl in ODIs though, he's been dire. Is there any explanation for that - favourable home conditions or something?

I was wondering about that myself. Stage-related yips perhaps?

tbf he's not played many games. Of those he had, a couple were after he was flown into Aus with no FC cricket for months, and the others were either against Aus or Bang IIRC.

It's not that I particularly rate Tremlett, but I wouldn't base too much on the handful of odi's that he's played.

Yardy is one of those players that is slightly...unusual I think, a bit in the the Paul Nixon mould. His unusual stance and unusual style of bowling do give us a bit of an extra dimension, and although I doubt he'll have a massive impact, I do think there is a place in the side/squad for someone like him, and I do think he's worth another go. The mistake was in the CT was that we inexplicably batted him at 4, when really I think he's good down at 6 or 7 for a few late order runs. His bowling might offer us something a bit different too. I'm not saying he's the answer, but the hugely negative reaction to him is a bit OTT.

Couldn't remember what county Yardy played for...I'm not surprised by the answer.
EDIT: Pfft. Most people were saying the same about Prior, and we know what happened there.

Except Prior was an unknown in Tests whereas Yardy isn't unknown, in fact he's very well known. :)

I will happily eat my hat if he blows the WI away but I just don't see it happening.

Very well known? Hardly. He's only played in 5 ODI's. And tbf, he failed with the bat, yes. But his economy rate with the ball is under 3, which can only be applauded really.

I'm doubtful whether he can be a success at this level, but I think its only fair to give him another go. If he is an abject failure, then he can be sent back to county cricket. But its frustrating when people write cricketers off based on very little evidence of their abilities at international level. God only knows we've given plenty of average cricketers countless chances to impress, and Yardy should be given a fair crack of the whip too. Batting in an unfamiliar role in a side which was hurting after their humiliation against Sri Lanka was hardly the finest place to impress anyway.

Just give him a bloody chance.

The same thing as happened when Geraint Jones was introduced. And we all know how that ended.
That doesn't even make sense. Jones was a relative success at first, and the problems came when we persisted with him after it was clear he was out of his depth. It all depends on the ability of Peter Moores to recognise when to drop his 'favourites', and if he is able to do that then it isn't really a problem. I see no issue with him introducing his own players initially, as he obviously knows them well enough to have a general idea whether they can cut it.
