Good to see Ramdin smashing the bowlers..What an inngs it was? Think he needs to perform good for the upcoming ODI's to match up Prior

Wouldn't the west Indies board have to put up some sort of a side, though, to avoid getting a hefty fine from the ICC? The players who made up the numbers at Worcester would presumably be available - but I suppose it would be a question of getting people over here in time. They may consider it not worth it for just three matches.

Still, it sets a very poor precedent if a series is cancelled due to players going on strike.

They always threaten to strike but never actually do. Might be setting myself up for a Greigy but they'll bow again

I agree. Its hardly the shock news of the day. They'll likely be an 11th hour compromise although if I were a Windies fan I'd be saying a lot of them have been on strike all summer anyway  I don't think they would be fined if they did pull out though - SA pulled out of an ODI triangular in SL last year for security reasons and didn't get fined (they had played the Test series). SL wanted compensation though...

Good to see Mascarenhas, finally.

But I must say the bowling attack looks desperately weak. I'm guessing the first choice attack will be Anderson, Plunkett, Sidebottom, Panesar, with Collingwood and Yardy as part-time back-up.
Not sure who else would have been available and an improvement, but is this really the best English attack possible atm?

Could be worse At least they're picking an OD side, rather than a tinkered Test side

It's a decent squad with the exception of Yardy, whoi isn't good enough at this level at either discipline.

Trott & Mascheranhas are at the very least worth a 'go' considering some of the dross that has been picked in the last 2 years.

I reckon Yardy must be a Moores selection. He started this season late, has done nothing in CC or FP this year to justify his place and flopped in CT. Lucky boy IMO. As for Mascarenas - someone tell the selectors we ain't playing at the Rose Bowl. I wouldn't have picked Plunkett - why drop him from the Test squad for inaacurate bowling then bring him back for ODIs a week later. I fear they were seduced by his (flattering?) figures in FP SF. We could have VERY long overs if he produces his Test bowling in an ODI enviroment. They should play Broad ahead of him - definately in 20/20 where he had the best domestic ER last year .Amazed they've only picked Cook as a specialist opener - back to Prior or Bell who've both done it before without much succsess. On the plus side its right to give Shah and Trott a chance and I'm pleased they have left out Strusss and Vaughan - and I will admit I MAY have set myself up for a Greigy here....
