What does that have to do with his comment?
I thought that. Craig's comment should presumably have been directed at me.

Anyway, looks like I was in a minority of 1 with regard to only picking 3 bowlers + Bravo. Let's hope Collymore and Fidel make me eat my words.

Disappointed to see Devon droppped, but judging by Cricinfo commentary (I'm stuck at work) Joseph has made a decent start. Does he open for the Leewards?

Poor catching from england again today...sort it out Thorpe!
Joseph living on the edge atm, a number of chances just falling short of Gully / Slip and then that dropped one by Thorpe.

Well evenly balanced at the end of the day i think.

Very lucky that i got to see 70 overs today, when i turned up and heard they weren't starting till 11:30 it looked like it was going to rain again before it started but i stayed away, i even got sun burnt. Then at the end it started absolutely leathering it down, and i decided to walk the three miles in to Manchester instead of queing for the metro, got absolutely drenched and reached the station 2 minutes after my train had gone and had to wait an hour for the next.

On the cricket side West Indies batted well although it wasn't always pretty, i thought Anderson bowled well in his first spell and wa unlucky that Thorpe dropped a catch of him as he did in the last test, after his first spell he was poor. Hoggard was good early on then dropped a little but came back later. Harmison was decent all day but i thought he bowled a bit short sometimes. Flintoff again good but dropped a little, Giles tried hard but didn't look much there for him.

Are you the first Englishman to get sunburnt?

I also got sunburnt - and at the Twenty20 Finals and at the 2nd Test...does that count for 5?!

You realise that they opened a SECOND QUEUE at the metro?! That massive queue - which I was in for a good 30 minutes was bloody pointless.....sheep following idiots....

Good day's play really - sat close to the pavillion...we even had a "choir" - the whole stand ended up singing the "Whoooooooo we are, Whereeeeeee we come from. Shall we tell them?" etc song...needless to say they got chucked out with about 30 minutes left...

One brilliant Mexican wave - went round 3 times - and some brilliant weather. You all know about the cricket, so is it worth me telling!? :p

Seems as if the WI selectors stuck with my side bar Lawson.I hear that there's some injury problem with Lawson,Jacobs and Banks. This is turning into the South African tour.

It died at the pavilion each time though
Not on that occasion - maybe you missed it but it definitely went round...some members of the pavilion carried it - maybe only one or two - but that still counts :D

Mister Wright - you try getting some ****ed blokes to do a Mexican wave in that kind of heat...'tis not an easy task...actually...I lied...it probably WAS an easy task... :)

I get sunburnt all the bloody time...

What are the ticketing arrangements for Day 5? I'm tempted to do a last-day visit again (weather permitting of course)...

Don't give me that! :@ The 'GABBA faithful stringently get the Mexican Wave going (bypassing the Members section with a few boos) several times a day, and more than three times in one go, I might add, in 35+degree celcius temperatures.

That TEC was questioning that if Baugh isn't good enough then was he picked.

I saw Joesph today, he batted ok, but he didn't really impress all that much, looked too loose outside off stump.

Is Jacobs injured or was dropped completely?

Overall I thought it was a fairly even day on day 1. England had the West Indies in a lot of trouble at 108-4 and could have collapsed, but Chanderpaul and Bravo showed some fight back and got their team in a position where they can get at least 300.
