I beg to differ!Narine won't be a threat in England.
Unless your name is Murali or Warne, English batsmen won't have any issues playing you in England.I beg to differ!
I wonder how that happened?Unless your name is Murali or Warne, English batsmen won't have any issues playing you in England.
I'd put my avatar at stake, but I've lost it for the rest of the year.
Ajmal was the last spinner you wrote off, wasn't he?Narine won't be a threat in England.
To be fair he has a point though, going to be cold and damp this week. Tough conditions for a test debut for a young lad with little experience in a foreign country.Basically every spinner since the Indian series last year.
*cue England's record against spin since.*
no **** sherlock.I hope I can get 14/1 for windies to win the odi series
Interesting, always thought testicular fortitude was a wrestling term. Anyway, I think it is a shame that Narine was not given the traditional tour from the start and was haphazardly called up midway. Shillingford is clearly not a Test level spinner, as far as I'm concerned and Narine may just be a great spinner.I dunno. We seem to struggle against "mystery" spinners; if Sammy has the testicular fortiude to surround the bat I wouldn't bet against Narine causing a few problems.
Mendis relied on a tiny amount of spin which turned to nothing when he left the sc whereas Narine's big spin may be reduced to merely a fair amount of spin. I think he'll be good. Probability sides with that he won't, but I'm taking a punt and think he'll give England a surprise.I know nothing about the lad, but has he played outside of the s-c or West Indies, gonna be a cold culture shock for him if not.
Think you're quick to dismiss Shillingford, the guy bowled pretty well against Australian on what were favourable wickets, and had one Test in England on a surface that in Tests hasn't been very responsive for spin. He's not the worst.Interesting, always thought testicular fortitude was a wrestling term. Can any West Indian fans fill me in on why Miller and Austin have recieved three Tests between them? Austin has a tremendous First Class record and Miller's is even better. Their records are far better than Shillingford or Benn - so why were the latter two given the shot. Also, how is all-rounder, Bernard doing? I liked the look of his bowling when I saw him play international cricket.
Surely 1 Test isn't enough time to judge someone with 217 FC wickets at 16.83 with an economy of 1.90! He's clearly very accurate. His lack of penetration in ODI cricket should be no proof of a similar lack in Test cricket, due to the difference in fields and mentality.I thought the consensus about Miller was that his record was a product of bowling at crap batsmen on crap pitches? Can't remember if I've ever seen him, which indicates how memorable his performances were if I have.
