Hopefully, Samuels will kick on from here as he is a real talent that has apparently handicapped himself with attitude problems.tooextracool said:gotta say im pleasantly surprised to see marlon samuels score a double ton. theres obviously something about playing in australia that he likes.

Not what they said on the news. They said he is going to travel to Brisbane and it will be touch-and-go all the way, but he definatly is not ruled out (unless news have suddenly changed about 90 minutes ago).jlo33692 said:Here is a scoop for cricketweb aussie supporters.
J Langer will not be playing in the first test V Windies
He has only 15 minutes ago gone to hospital with broken ribs after a rising ball hit him in the rib area. The main danger at the moment and doctors fear this is the case is that he has also punctured his lung. If it is not punctured (which it appears to be) The broken ribs will keep him out of the test.
So maybe someone like a hodge or a new batsman will be called up. One thing for certain though is that Justin Langer will not be playing in the first test, and depending on the outcome of the scans the series against the windies, what a blow.
Lara always took me as a player that could lift when he really needed to. A few matches thrown together where there was little responsibility on his shoulders, and a tour match against Queensland dont really take me as situations where he really needed to rise. And what is up with Lara? Can we say this is one of or a combination of a form slump/past it/not enough cricket/no longer interested?
I can't see it happening, he looked completely useless against Murali when they played Sri Lanka a while back. I think Warne and MacGill (if he plays) will sort him out.social said:Hopefully, Samuels will kick on from here as he is a real talent that has apparently handicapped himself with attitude problems.
I wish him a speedy recovery. And in a perverted way, I wish Hayden was the one who got that injury. NOt really, but u know, it could have been better if it wasn't Justin.jlo33692 said:Here is a scoop for cricketweb aussie supporters.

Lara's last 11 relevant Test innings (ie not the SuperFarce):Craig said:And what is up with Lara? Can we say this is one of or a combination of a form slump/past it/not enough cricket/no longer interested?
Tell him to get well soon, John.jlo33692 said:Here is a scoop for cricketweb aussie supporters.

Justin Langer is made of 'the right stuff'. In my opinion, he's up there with Boycott as far as sheer bloody-mindedness and guts are concerned - and Geoffrey wouldn't have let something like a busted rib get in the way of a day or two of knocking this West Indian attack around.SquidAU said:http://foxsports.news.com.au/story/0,8659,17076007-32465,00.html
I think if one has a cracked rib, maybe you shouldn't face 140km/h bowling!
Talk about trying to hold on to yer spot!
Langer has played with worse.luckyeddie said:Justin Langer is made of 'the right stuff'. that it maybe, but it is strange that queensland are struggling to get past 300.Craig said:The pitch looked as flat as road.
If you and I were any good (maybe you are I don't know) we would have had a fun time batting.
langer is a fine player, except that he gets himself hit on the body everytime he goes out to bat.luckyeddie said:Justin Langer is made of 'the right stuff'.
