I reckon Blackwell will get a 50 in this match.

And I reckon we could see Watson bat up the order today.

Doesent look like they are going to break that streak today.

Eng: 4/42

Brakken 3/20 of 7
Williams 1/20 of 7

lol! the game is getting interesting now

Australia 104/6 (36.4 ov)

lost 3 quick wickets incredably Symonds was batting out of his Crease to Ian Blackwell and he let the ball go through to the keeper and was stumped without moving lol!

This pitch looks very very hard to score on.

Man this picth looks almost imposible to score freely on even the half vollys cant be timed. And Blackwell is spinning it alot :O

Well Michael Clarke (39*) has steered the Aussies home.

Hands up who thinks this was fixed to get us the bonus point?

Bracken MotM. From an English point of view, credit to Blackwell (3-26), Anderson (1-12 with 6 maidens) and Collingwood (63*) for being the only batsman to show some guts.

Australia couldnt have done it in 30 overs if they wanted, i wouldnt go as far as saying they are scared of playing sri Lanka but you can see they have a much bigger chance of winning against england

Well if they were trying to keep Sri Lanka out of the game it nearly cost them.

Things were getting tight towards the end but M. Clark showed his talent with some lusty shots near the end. That lofted cover drive that almost went for six was pritty good because its pritty hard to hit full tosses over cover.

I dont think they were trying to keep Sri lanka out of the Finals or they would not have sent Lee in as a pinch hitter.

he bowled a bloody good spell too, only 27 runs off him was a very good effort also bowling 10 overs in that heat.

:wow: I just found out that James Anderson's figures of 10-6-12-1 were the most economical figures against Australia in one day internationals, and the most economical for England since Ian Botham recorded identical figures against Pakistan in the 1992 world cup. Pretty impressive for a such a young and inexperienced player.

Hmmmm...what about 10-6-12-1 in only your 7th ODI, and only your 11th ever List A OD Game...

Michael Vaughan

He is a fine Test Batsman but in ODIs he his less succesful as although he trys to score quickly and has all the shots, he gets set then gets out trying to push the scoring along. He could be a useful player with his off-spin which he has tightened up a long on, and some useful batting, but what England needs is a number 3 who can score Centuries, a sort of Trescothick or Knight style number 3. Vaughan may manage it sometime but at the moment it's constancy which is his problem. I'm still not convinced...

What about Blackwell? His bowling has improved greatly, as today's match proved. His batting's pretty good too, although his last few innings haven't been that good. But I suppose he's been picked to come in and play his shots, so it could be expected.

Would he be good in the Test squad?

Granted but let's see if his figures would have been as good if he were able to bowl 150km/h. Jimmy Anderson certainly bowled pretty tightly but he was helped a great deal by the mindset of the Aussie batsmen.

Trust me, as someone who was there, Brett Lee looked the most dangerous of all the bowlers in the match. He beat the bat quite frequently and was desperately unlucky not to finish with at least one wicket.
