That was already said about Kemp though. ;)
But since then, Kemp has all but given away bowling due to a mixture of injuries and it being generally rubbish.

Van Der Wath can actually bowl...

prince and rudolf are not up to 1 day standard, there has got to be 2 players in SA who can field well and bat quicker than those two.
It's not always about scoring quickly though. With South Africa's bowling lineup at full strength, they dont concede 300 too often, so quick scoring isnt always required. They back themselves to score about 240-250 with the likes of Rudolph, Prince and Kallis, and then win the match with their world class pace attack.

if SL lose tomorrow i think we are going to see some heads role..
I would say heads are already expected to roll and winning or losing will not make that much of a difference.

For One - I would support a Cricket Board that is run independant of SL Government , where smart people, leaders of business, entrepreneurs and professionals were involved rather than politicians and book makers.

I would also prefer selectors who will bite the bullet and quit when their selections go wrong over a couple of tours. (instead of finding excuses)

I would also hope the Captain takes responsibility for some of the things going wrong and acknowledge his weakness and realise that other people are better skilled in the Team to do the job, so perhaps its time they quit, since they cannot handle the pressure and their own batting is declining.

I would also hope a coach is genuine enough to realise he cannot possibly do better for the Team (ie that he is not contributing in any way to the Teams improvement ) or the requirements of the job are beyond him and instead of kidding himself and others be man enough to quit.

With regard to Tomorrow's game, I feel the South Africans have had a very tough period in Australia and I would not grudge them if they beat SL .

Very true.. i would like to see Vanderwath and Boucher move up the order like the previous game, this will give them quick runs.

and Pollock will also be very important tomorrow.. both with batting and his bowling.

Can't have Ruduloph, Prince and Dienpenaar, together, in the top five. They get bogged down, which leaves too much for the other guys to do.

Boucher at 4, Roudolph at 5, Pollock at 6

If pollock plays, still a question mark there.
Funnily the other night they sent boucher and kemp in above prince and rudolph, maybe they would have been better off sending vanderwrath aand hall in above them as well, sense smith and arthur have lost total confidence in rudolph and prince.
They will be replaced for the return series in s africa, question is who will replace them mckenzie and vanjaarsveldt may be worth another go.
Feel prince being made vice captain is a political and also being used as a carrot to score runs:laugh: .

Shame he's being wasted as Australia's super-sub, we never get to see him bat. Personally I think Katich should be the super-sub, even if we bat first we don't lose too much...
yea i think that would be a good idea.

South African tour

Looking ahead of the test & ODI's on this tour this would be my sqauds:

ODI'S:
Ponting, Gilchrist, Haddin, Katich, Martyn, Symonds, Clarke, Hussey, Watson, Hopes, Hogg, Lee, Gillespie, McGrath, Bracken.

Unfortunately i cant go for Jaques in the OD team since obviosuly the of him being selected over Katich now are unlikely.

TESTS:
Ponting, Gilchrist, Langer, Hayden, Hodge, Hussey, Martyn, Watson, Warne, MacGill, Lee, Dizzy, Tait, McGrath.

This is the first i've seen of Dale Steyn, and it looks like he's got a bit of work to do if he wants to make it at international level.

South Africa surely can't go sacking their 3rd coach within a year or so if they don't make the final. They've got to give Arthur a bit of time to get his structures & methods in place.

I think the South Africans look better balanced with their batting in the game against Australia and this one. Boucher has been the best of their batsmen in the VB Series and he should be given more time to compile an innings. Kemp is capable of pushing the scoring along with some big hits, but he seems to take time to settle into his innings before he opens the shoulders, so him coming him at #7 or #8 is a waste of his capabilities. Prince accumulates runs and can steady a sinking ship if need be, while we all know how good Pollock has been at hitting through the later overs.

Sangakkara & Attapattu have to be 2 of the worst runners between the wickets in international cricket.
