You bag Kaluesekera and then praise Perera? From what I saw yesterday, Perera is absolutely awful. Wouldnt even make the WA side.
They are both pretty crap, but Kalusekera is a different type of crap, i think the word is useless. Perera also took 3 wickets yesterday...

Ive only seen Kalusekera bowl a few times, but he wasnt that bad in the games Ive seen.

Perera may have taken three wickets yesterday, but so did Chris Martin. Regardless of his final figures, he bowled trash and will be taken to the cleaners if he plays against South Africa or Australia.

Perera may go for six an over against the Aussie and SA, but Kalusekera will go for 8 or 10. Kalusekera is one of the worst players to ever play for Sri Lanka and they have been some really crap ones recently.

Hes played six ODIs for an economy rate of 3.89. Admittedly I think Ive only seen one or two of them, but its not a bad record...

six ODIs, three wickets and an average of 52, if you don't take wickets against teams like Australia or even look like taking one your going to get smack all around the park. Also if you take out his first game on crap pitch, his e/r goes up a lot. His only really had two good games, one against England (1st) and NZ (last). If the pitches don't suit him then he will get smacked all over the park like he done in 4 out of his 6 games.

I think the only time Ive ever seen him bowl is highlights on the first one, and live telecast of the last one, so that may explain why I rate him more highly than most do.

Is Nuwan Zoysa injured or has he been sidelined since his Bad Indian Tour ?

The other question I have is , How do you rate Kaushalya Weeraratne ?

I know he is very medium pace :D but as an all rounder he would have been extremely useful in the VB series . And in the few ODIs he played he has a very good economy rate IIRC.

Recently he scored the fastest 50 in SL First Class cricket or some such thing like that .

Any opinions ?

Sri Lanka should contemplate having their better players higher up the order - makes sense to get them to face as much bowling as possible.

Also, they have Murali and Vaas in their squad. So its not as if they have nothing. They should take a positive from there and build their bowling on their strength - as EWS said - on spin.

Journeymen so called fast bowlers would be easy for the likes of Australia and RSA.

The problem really is bigger though with quality players not coming through. Hopefully, though, the current series will start a rebuilding process for Sri Lanka.

I agree with a lot of Prince EWS, however for one reason or another I think SL are going to provide a few surprise wins this tour. They won't make the finals, but I think they'll play similar to how the WI played last year. Some games they'll look like they have no chance, other games they'll be very competitive and even sneak a win or two. That's my prediction anyway. I think they'll just miss out on the finals.

exactly what have NZ done? We dont even play a full strength team to beat you guys but with England we did and they gave us a good contest.

we have now established that they're both crap. but looking at their records Kulasekara is less crap, so i'd go with him. :D

no idea what's up with Zoysa.
talking about Weerarathne, I feel he's one of those guys where the selectors hoped would make an impact but failed and was forgotten forever, like Shantha kalawitigoda. he should have been given more chances.

If they really are both crap, then pick neither.

Zoysa was sidelined after a bad tour of India

Weerartne, i think we need frontline line bowlers not bits and pieces all rounder. Also his batting is no better then Maharoof or Vaas. Until he can make the side batting 7, i can't see a spot for him. His batting still needs to improve a lot IMO.

Well that would be illegal, and therefore against the rules for anyone to give you a link.
