Wow, Hussey actually got a duck :-O

How good was Murali's ball to Haddin? Pure brilliance.

Bandara bowling beautifully here. Get a wicket son! I reckon he had Clarke there LBW, close call.

What a come back Innings by the old fellow. He has really put to rest lot of fears and anxiety Sri Lankan cricket fans had as to whether this was the end.
Does it suggest that he has had an injury for a long time then?

Or should we reserve judgement until the end of the series, see where he's at by then.

Hmm, according to ABC he's just come back from a very long injury but I thought otherwise from what I'd read.

On their performance (so far) in the VB, are SL are threat in the WC?
I'd say it's too early to say to be honest - traditionally they have struggled a lot away from home (or more the subcontinent) - and they've just been thrashed in NZ.

He has been injured, that's definite, but when he was last playing he struggled - I'm wondering if hindsight would tell us that that's because of the injury which hadn't been diagnosed at the time.

He's doing a fab job with the ball as well so far. 3 overs for 9 runs!

Jayasuriya wasn't fully fit during the India ODI series, as his shoulder wasn't completely 100% seeing as he wasn't able to bowl. They believed his shoulder would be right to bat with though, but he never got going in that series. Whether that was just poor form, good bowling or his shoulder injury is anyone's guess really.

Yeah I was under the impression that he'd been dropped for poor form, maybe him being dropped was a secretly good thing for him and Sri Lanka? I'd have thought he's a retired man after the WC though. He'll be 37 almost 38.

Clever ODI tactics by Sri Lanka here as they are rattling off the overs, very very quick over rate wit hthe two spinners.

Batsman aren't getting a chance to think about things.

NZ is a seamers paradise though, not suited to their spinners and their batsmen wouldn't enjoy it. In the WI they're far more likely to get slowish flat wickets - not sure that they'll turn that much but they're clever bowlers so they may be able to pin batsmen down.

Na, I would say that Aus still have a chance while these 2 are together.

Clarke has looked awesome.
Yeah. If these two are there until the end, there's probably a good chance. You feel that a wicket might fall though, at any time.

Clarke's leading the chase wonderfully though.

1 series of seamers against India..

The pitches offered nothing for the bowlers against Sri Lanka, they were flat and the only one that didn't turn was Napier.

In fact Wellington was a perfect wicket for the Sri Lankan spinners as proven by Jeetan Patel being the MOTM.

Partnership growing fast now, and looking really dangerous. One wicket would slow things down enough to make it all but impossible I think, but 9 an over is looking fairly comfortable with these two going.

I agree with Lawry, Bandara was doing the job and had Symonds in trouble, and since he was taken off the partnership has just grown. The fielding has dropped off as well with many misfields. They just need a wicket to calm things down.
