just realised it, Jaques isn't playing and Katich is kinda surpised at that.
Well there's going to be a lot of pressure on Katich for the rest of this series to retain his spot. Let's hope he can get some runs.

well 310 to win, all all the batsmen need runs tonight but this sydney deck seems to be assisting spin & SRI have potenitally 30 good overs of it, so it wont be an easy task at all.

This VB series has been pretty competitive thus far..

I wonder if Jayasuriya's shoulder is alright to bowl? I mean they'll have Murali, Dilshan and Bandara but Jayasuriya's experience with the ball may pay off if he's needed.

I would suggest the rationale for Katich playing for Jacques because the Kat is a way better player of spin. The deck is turning quite a bit too.

Went to bed early just to watch the cricket, only to find OZ Aerobics, Watersport World and Australian Supercross on, what a joke.

Back to the game, is this a great score or just par?, will there be any turn for Murali and Bandara?.
I think this score is just barely par, and given the strong Aussie batting lineup , I think the Aussies are likely to make it. Moreso given the pitch, the very fast outfield and the short boundaries in some parts.

Symmo (or Roy as he is now known) might clear it several times if he gets going.

SL should have got 340 + . Like against SA - after the first few wickets, the Middle order seems to struggle to kick up a gear and take it to the next level , like Aussies and some other Teams are easily capable of.

Yeah, should be quite a bit of spin. Well bowled at the death by Bracken, Sri Lanka should`ve got a few more runs though.

Good match coming up.

Are you kidding we have Murali, Bandara, Jayasuriya , Dilshan and add in Mubarak and Arnold. You could have 50 overs of spin if you like.

They are 20-30 short of a winning score, but then the bowling could make that difference.

But then again it might not , if Symmo(Roy) and Martyn get going. With Ponting , Clarke and co to assist ....

I don`t feel good. I want Bandara to do well, yet I want Australia to win.

My tummy hurts.

You reckon? The SL bowling attack looks good, the pitch is turning anf it always slows up in the evening session in Sydney. I think, short of a better knock than Jayasuriya's (a VERY tough ask), Australia are going to struggle.

Key bowler will be Bandara. Quickish, skidding spinners on a rapidly-slowing-down pitch will be tough to play especially someone like him who can turn it. You heard it here first. :)

EDIT: And Vaas. Someone of his speed and movement through the air will be very tough to hit for the boundaries the Aussies will need.

Ah the Jayasuriya of old. He may not be as good as he was in the 90s, but when he's on its just great to watch.

Hopes has just been belted for 19 runs off his first over!
What a come back Innings by the old fellow. He has really put to rest lot of fears and anxiety Sri Lankan cricket fans had as to whether this was the end.

It may be the beginning of the end , but he has shown there's still life in him and I hope the guy can survive thru' to the next World Cup for SL's sake.

I hope the selectors and the team management use him shrewdly by playing him for few games while resting him in between so the other younger openers get a go as well.

You could have both, if Bandara bowls his 10 overs for 20 runs and gets 3-4 wickets , but the others get smashed and Australia still win .

If that happens though its my tummy that will hurt .

You left out Murali , the 3rd highest wicket taker in ODI history and the most economical bowler in ODI cricket (of those playing currently) .:)

Pretty happy with that in terms of fantasy cricket. I've got Jayawardene and Sangakkara, and then Lee, Bracken, Symonds, Clarke and Hogg, all of whom took wickets :) (and Hussey who took a catch!)
