I guess Rudolph is the like-for-like replacement, seeing as he basically took Kallis' spot in the last match, and performed quite well.
That'd be true, if Rudolph could be relied upon to bowl 5-10 overs of fast medium....

Dude, it's ppl like you that give Sri Lankan supporters a bad name. True supporters support their team even through the tough times. I don't start saying bad things about the team just cause they been going through bad patch, I support them all they way even in a game that we have no chance winning.
Good for you .

I think Sanath has a better chance to build an innings if he comes down the order, because his foot movements are too slow for the fast swinging deliveries of Lee and some others.
In a ODI, coming in at 6 or 7doesnt usually giv u much time to build an innings . . . If the batsmen above u hav done the work, its usually up to u to slog a few 4s or 6s . .

Anyways it should be interesting to see where he'll bat on Sunday against Australia . ..I assume he will open, and hopefully Mubarak moves down one.. . Sydney has been a good ground for Sanath, 2 centuries here last time .. .

well he looked out of sorts in india agaist the swinging ball. maybe that was because of tha injury. well, we'll find out on sunday where he bats.

The current Lankan ODI side, whatever be the combination, can't be far better than this one.
  • Sanath
  • Chandana (LB)
  • Sangakkara
  • Dilshan
  • Marvan(C)
  • Mahela
  • Zoysa (LMF)
  • Tharanga (WK)
  • Vaas (lMF)
  • Muralitharan (OB)
  • Dilhara (RFM)
  • RESERVE: Vandort (For Sanath)
  • RESERVE: Bandara (LB, for Murali)
  • RESERVE: Malinga (RFM, for Dilhara)
  • RESERVE: Naveed Nawaz (for middle-order)
Comments? Strange selection indeed, with the last one being a guess. Tharanga's been wicketkeeping in domestic matches and he's young, so he can be played in that position. Zoysa's a good hitter, so in the final overs or powerplays, he should be sent in to bat, only to hit the big shots, though fans and experts (also the official Lankan cheerleader) say he's a good batsman. This team has five bowling options and batting till number 9, so it's more versatile than the current Lankan selection. The Lankans have had a terrible run in ODI's so far, so a revamp will help a lot.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Dorey. He's a huge prospect.
Agreed, he`s one of my favourite players. I hope the pressure doesn`t get to him, he`s a legend. SBS said there would be no Bracken and no Clark tomorrow. Slightly odd.

I reckon, early days I know, that he could be more effective than McGrath in the Tests next summer, to play that 'tall-guy' role.

Meanwhile in deepest Natal, a certain Lance Klusener is batting and bowling for the Dolphins, what a waste..
IIRC, didn't Graeme Smith say he had attitude problems ?

Ironically, it was the same Graeme 'sledge-happy' Smith who sledged the Aussies when he made his debut playing for a team in trouble. Laughable comment, that one. Klusener has served SA well in Tests and ODI's, every time he played.

how old is klusner now? does he have a chance of making a comeback i remember him playing SL when SA toured last year. He was one of my favorite players to watch too bad he was thrown out.
