if it wasnt for vandort SL would have been all out for 120. Sl lost the game when vaas bowled that noball to Martyn, second time in 2 weeks he has done this, lost the 3rd odi to NZ as well becasue he got Astle of a no-ball and then astle continued to smash 18 runs of his over. Too bad jayawardena made a 50 today now he is garunteed 5 more innings and 5 more failures. Sl need a home series FAST!!!
Despite all our whinges about poor decisions, the Truth is SL has been outplayed over run by a far far superior Team, in batting, bowling and fielding.

I really could not understand Van Dort's Innings . He seems more of A test Batsman than a ODI slogger . His failure to accelerate the scoring even after a reasonable occupation of the crease may be due to lack of recent cricket and the responsibility for that lies with the Team Management for failing to play him in the only practice game they had.

Atapattu's Captaincy was very very poor . The more I see SL struggle , the more it becomes clearer that SL's Current Captain is adding to his Teams woes.

Winning the Toss and putting the Aussies in, was the biggest stupidity of the Year so far for me !! And then his rotation of bowlers was poor particularly when he had the aussies under some bother early, he failed to use his bowling changes smartly to keep them under check. Then as SL batted, he sent his three most inexperienced batsman at the top of the order together . That to me shows very very very poor captaincy.

Tom Moody has again proven how useless he is and I would hope he will remain back in Australia as this VB series concludes.

SL needs some imagination and aggresiveness that is the best way they play and that is the only way the can get out of this slump. On top of that they are soooo boring to watch right now,

Aus must be worried that even with such a poor batting performance they where still not able to bowl out the Sri-Lankans.

You can't . Therefore why waste a bloody fortune on an Overseas Coach /Assistant coach/ fielding coach etc... Divert it into the domestic grassroots cricket and at least some local rural schools and clubs will start discovering some young talented cricketers .

Get a local coach. There's Roy Dias an ex -Sri Lankan cricketer , who can do a better job than Moody.

dyson managed to do so :p
TBH I don't think Dyson did that. The only coach to have got SL Team to perform above potential or even to their potential is Dav Whatmore .

What do people think is the ideal batting line up for SL at this stage and/or what other changes would you make to this line up?
1. Atapattu
2. Sangakkara
3. Jayawardene
4. Tharanga
5. Dilshan
6. Arnold
7. Vandort (stick with him)
8. Vaas
9. Bandara
10. Fernando
11. Murali

If I had my way Chandana would be on this tour. IMO for such a strong side, they're short a quality back-up spinner.

I hate Pup. Ruined a Clown century. He better buy Symonds a keg.

I love Australian crowds. Murali bowls... "NO BALL!" There were also some good looking women out there who held up a "MARRY US, ROY" sign. Until some men took them, that is.

Chingoka and Bvute need to take control of Sri Lankan cricket.
You must be talking about those hard up Aussie shielas who turn up to cricket matches showing as much of their **** as possible so that they can be on TV . :D

Do you agree with me on Brett Lee though ... :p
Yes, he is a chucker to a degree. However, I cannot say whether he, or Perera for that matter, are not within the ICC's guidleines. You can chuck as long as you don't go over 15 degrees is the way I understand it.

I have no issue with giving him another go provided he understands that he will need to score a little bit quicker than what he did yesterday while staying put for a long innings while the batsman at the other end can take a few risks and go after the bowling . Also then it will be at the expense of Mubarak, because I think both Teams yesterday were quite unbalanced with too many batsman and as far as SL is concerned , If 7 batsman cannot do it a Super sub 8th is definitely not going to either .

that's not a big surprise considering NZ is a lesser team than Australia.
