Dilshan's a better allrounder in ODI cricket IMO. Chandana's probably the better bowler, but Dilshan is a long way ahead with the bat.LongHopCassidy said:Does anyone know where Chandana is? Is he injured or just out of form?
Apart from Jayasuriya, he was SL's best all-rounder.
Chandana was dropped after the India ODI series.LongHopCassidy said:Does anyone know where Chandana is? Is he injured or just out of form?

I dunno, I reckon Perera's arm is more bent than Botha's, then again the image that sticks in my mind is the extreme slow-mo of his action.James90 said:Perera is dubious. Much in the same mould as Lawson but I think they're both just legal. Botha on the other hand....it must be in excess of 40degrees that bend. Really does make you wonder how such blatent chuckers can get to international level and now the ICC aren't doing anything about that!
Looking at the teams, and given that it's going to be a road of a pitch, I think whoever bats first tomorrow will most likely post a pretty decent score. In the South African line-up, Andrew Hall is listed at number 10 (bearing in mind that he has actually opened in Test matches). That gives you an idea of the batting depth. From there, it's much more difficult to chase a big score than it is to set one. So, in summary, I think the toss will be fairly crucial tomorrow.burkey_1988 said:Anyone's thoughts on tomorrow's match?
I think Australia will win, but Sth Africa will put up a good fight, especially with the bat. However, without Ntini and Nel I think their bowlers may suffer at the hands of the Aussie batsmen.
But then How does Brett Lee generate that extra speed ? You can't do that without Chucking and any monkey's uncle can tell you that !!Josh said:I dunno, I reckon Perera's arm is more bent than Botha's, then again the image that sticks in my mind is the extreme slow-mo of his action.
Dilshan has improved vastly as an ODI allrounder . (I mean not only his bowling, but even his fielding is amazing . Particularly some of his amazing catches)Jono said:Dilshan's a better allrounder in ODI cricket IMO. Chandana's probably the better bowler, but Dilshan is a long way ahead with the bat.
What I don't understand is why you guys don't host triangulars.Ming said:Because the AUS/SAF/NZ tournament combination was enjoyable. Heard of a sporting rivalry between these countries? Maybe not.
I would have liked NZ to be in this VB, instead of next year where we have to face the overrated Poms who are incapable of living upto their new found reputation. The 06/07 VB series will be competed by two top nations, and a nation who is found to have a 'choking' ability in England. Waste of a showclass event really.
word, their bowling attack now isn't that better than sri lanka's..Jono said:I read Langeveldt injured himself today as well?

Without Nel, Ntini and Langeveldt I don't give them much hope at all.

What could he do in the last game then?JASON said:Winning the toss is fairly crucial and a sizeable advantage for most Teams except when its Atapattu !!
