Perera was reported a few years ago wasn't he?

Anyway, looks like this match is as good as over. Sri Lanka don't have any big-hitters without Jayasuriya so I can't really see them getting the 7-8 per over they're going to need.

Yeah, Perera didn't look too good action wise. Fairly useful bowler though, even though he lost it a bit when Symonds was going after him.

Unfortunately for Sri Lanka, they seem to be totally lacking confidence. Murali has struggled to take wickets recently and so more pressure goes onto the pace bowlers who don't really seem up to it at times.

The batsmen need to be chasing lower totals so that they can get their confidence back but the bowlers aren't doing the job and it's just turning into an ugly cycle for them.

Hopefully Dilshan scores. He's a good talent and if he and Vandort can muster up some partnership it'll be a positive in what looks to be a devastating loss.

What's ridiculous is that the game is pretty much gone now, yet Atapattu and Jayawardene, two of SL's most experienced batsmen, are still yet to bat. I think Atapattu should come in at 3 if he doesn't want to open. No use having him come in when the game is gone. And sending Vandort in on debut (I think he was on debut) at 3 chasing 300+ and Lee and McGrath on fire just seems stupid.

Jayawardene is totally out of nick right now. But Attapattu looked very good against NZ, he really should have been batting in the top #3.

Great batting by Martyn. Sort of makes you mourn that he's been demoted from the test side.

I just managed to catch the last dozen overs of the Oz innings, but what are we feeling about Perera's action? First ball I saw of his was the slower ball to Clarke & it looked a bit, er, unconventional shall we say?
I was just watching casually, not looking all that carefully, and some balls made me sit up and watch, but then others looked as natural as ... something pretty natural.

You have to give credit to Vandort though. He really was struggling, but he's working through it..he's still there and he's now hitting a few four's off Hogg.

Have to admit, taking almost 20 overs for 47 runs is pretty outrageous, having said that without him they'd be on something even worse!
