Katich got several lives from the Umpires as well as from SL fielders !!James90 said:Well there you go. Martyn and Katich had an abundance of luck and now it comes back to Sri Lanka, dismissing the one guy who could take Australia to a total of 350 with a freak series of events.
Katich was never out LBW. It was missing, no matter what that Hawkeye says. As for Martyn's run out prior to scoring, if Fernando had touched it he would have appealed, wouldn't he?JASON said:Katich got several lives from the Umpires as well as from SL fielders !!
Mark Benson denied a Plumb LBW off Dilhara Fernando's first over !! And Aussies would have struggled to get their innings going at that stage had that been given !!
He also got away with a few other very close LBW shouts.
Martyn's run out prior to scoring was not very clear although it seemed there was some minor deflection off Dilhara's fingers .
I think this game is beyond SL already . Although with extra Power Play in ODIs now 300 plus is not totally ungettable . But that means few of the SL batsman at the top of the order will really have to go after the bowling and use the Power Play well .
You know its not SL's day when Murali gets that sort of figures.Jono said:Wow, Murali ends up with 67 runs from his 10 overs and no wickets. Hasn't been his day today.
You mate are obviously are more sharper than Hawk Eye and Chappell/Lawry combined .burkey_1988 said:Katich was never out LBW. It was missing, no matter what that Hawkeye says.
He did appeal to the square leg Umpire If I am to believe the commentators.burkey_1988 said:As for Martyn's run out prior to scoring, if Fernando had touched it he would have appealed, wouldn't he?
Overall great effort by the Australians. However, I thought the Sri Lankan bowlers bowled very well in the last 10 overs.
Yes. Murali went for 67 runs because he was unlucky.JASON said:You know its not SL's day when Murali gets that sort of figures.
The Luck is definitely with the Aussies so far in this game. (except for the wicket of Symonds) .
Why would he appeal to square leg ?JASON said:He did appeal to the square leg Umpire If I am to believe the commentators.
With all due respect Jason, you seem to make excuses every game SL loses whilst still bad mouthing the SL team for poor performances.JASON said:Katich got several lives from the Umpires as well as from SL fielders !!

Around about the 75 is good for a team to build off.mikeW said:he scores far to slowly considering the batsmen we have in our team.
I would guess he's in just about every team, especially as he's not been put as an All Rounder.andyc said:Symonds going well here. He's in my fantasy team too, so hopefully he'll keep going.
I wouldn't say that they would've done for sure - could've done, but there's too much talent in there to say they would've done.JASON said:Mark Benson denied a Plumb LBW off Dilhara Fernando's first over !! I just managed to catch the last dozen overs of the Oz innings, but what are we feeling about Perera's action? First ball I saw of his was the slower ball to Clarke & it looked a bit, er, unconventional shall we say?lionheart said:I was quite impressed by Ruchira Perera, who a number were bad-mouthing.
