if afridi came up the order, pakistan are losing out on a quick 30 odd runs down the order! then they may as well open with rana , going by your logic

why not man? Rana is ding much better then a openers. Bring Saqlain back as a bowler and you got someone else who can bat down the order.

I sure hope that beamer from Lee wasn't deliberate because if it was, that's just about the worst piece of sportsmanship I've personally ever seen. And he's the supreme hypocrite because he was moaning to Koertzen when he got the beamer from Razzaq (which was, in my mind, obviously accidental).

More importantly, where was the captain when the beamer came from Lee?
It'll be an interesting test for the referee. Lee will have to argue that it was accidental, but given the context, it might be a difficult argument. If he did throw it at Razzaq's head intentionally, surely this is something the ICC needs to penalise heavily, rather than bowler "sendoffs" and expressions of surprise about light calls, etc.

And McGrath gets Razzaq caught behind....

Damn Razzaq gone. That's a shame. He was playing really well but then it shouldn't have been up to him to win the game from this position. The top-order for Pakistan has a lot to answer for.

Bringing in Taufeeq Umar for his first game on tour seems like it wasn't a great decision.

I'd imagine it probably was accidental. Bowling beamers is something that I would hope no-one ever actually practises so being able to do it on command would be really tough, let alone to put enough power into it to make it anything lethal. So to me, the odds are so against it being deliberate that it must have been accidental. I sure hope so, anyway.

If not, Brett Lee should earn a few matches on the sidelines for that.

Australia wins 2-0 - and that's the end of another home international season. I'd expected better from all the teams participating, but in the end Australia dominated fairly easily, and playing far from our best, too (although the Kiwis could have given us some frights had they played more games). Still, it was a little more competitive than last year.

Lee gets Player of the Series - regardless of what happened tonight, he's bowled extremely well throughout the tournament.

Looking forward to the Ashes, though I don't expect to see too much of it. :(

Could have been a lot of players.

Lee just got it because he now has 20% more. :D

I hope some Australian gets that joke.

I personally don't think Aussie's dominated the ODI's. Certainly their test team is a cut above all others [IMO] but their ODI team is only slightly better then the other ODI nations.

Also, Lee didn't ball well throughout the tournament. He got hammered thrice. That's too inconsistent for the man of the series award IMO. It should have gone to Clarke or Inzamam [second choice]

There's a television ad for Gatorade. Brett Lee is one of the athletes in the ad, and the ad says "Watch out batsman, Brett Lee now has 20% more".

He also sweats Gatorade in the ad

Yeah but he bowled so well on other occasions. And in those times he went for a few, he still took wickets. He was clearly Australia's best bowler.

That said, you're right' Clarke should have been int he mix. He had a great run of scores.
