Just reading Watson's profile on Cricinfo.

"Apart from a nude photoshoot in an arty men’s mag he faded swiftly from view, bouncing back last summer with four hundreds from No. 4 for Tasmania."

 What the... Is this normal behavior for Australian cricketers?
No, that nude shot probably went along with giving the selectors a good working over so he could make the aussie team...

Well, good to see Symonds get some run. Even thought he is the worst ODI player to play for Australia in my time.

That's a huge call. (But I remember Glenn Trimble)

The bails were knocked off and the moment they are disturbed, i.e when the stump moves to dislodge them is the moment the batsman is run out. That's my understanding of the run out rule anyway.
No, the bails have to be completely dislodged, the position of the stumps is irrelevant.

I thought the Gilchrist decision was good. If you watch the replays, there were two relevant frames. In the first frame, Gilchrist's bat was outside of the crease, and Akmal's gloves (with the ball) were in contact with the stumps quite low down, and they had clearly moved. However, the frozen image shows the bails are still in place, because he hit the stumps quite low down it took a little longer for the stumps to move enough to dislodge the bails. In the second frame, Gilchrist is safe and the bails are in the air. There was no conclusive frame which showed the bails in the air and Gilchrist outside or on the crease, so it was given not out. Anything else would have been a poor decision.

symonds man-of-the-match :) haha, just picked up the AB medal and he should begin the next year with maximum points ;)

on the bright side for pakistan, they have some genuine talent coming through. they hit rock bottom in the test series but they are on the rise. They need to forget about Sami, and not bother even considering Akhtar unless he can prove beyond any doubt that he is 100% fit.

I reckon that, out of the players we've seen on this tour, their 1st XI for tests should go something like:

Butt
Hameed
Khan
Youhana
Inzamam
Malik (assuming he can bowl)
Akmal
Rana
Rao
Akhtar
Kaneria

The only position really up for grabs is Malik's, as players such as Kamal, Razzaq and Hafeez could lay serious claims to it. I think that Rana, Rao and Kaneria all provide much spirit to the pakistanis. The other thing is that Rana, Rao and Akhtar are all different types of fast bowlers - Akhtar's more pace, Rao's more movement off the pitch and Rana swings it more. They could do with a 5th bowling option though and that's where the all-rounders would come into it.

And heres another who thinks Australia are helped by the umpires.

Your just a poor sport who cant handle watching Australia win, but dont worry you have lots of friends who will cry along with you.
Personally I back Aussie in all sports against anyone apart from NZ of course. So i certainly won't be drippling and sulking over it. Just seen it happen time and time again with those umpires i've mentioned. I've no problem with Taufell.

I've obviously upset you with my observation. Do you wish to defend Davis and Parker?

Watson smashed over the fence into the construction zone by Afridi.

Next ball: Over mid wicket, close to fence, 6 more. GO WATSON YOU CHAMPION 8-) Deport this man!!
Nice job of ignoring his first spell where he bowled beautifully as well. Also that every other bowler in the VB series so far has been belted by Afridi at some point. I very much doubt Watson would be displeased with his figrues of 9-1-38-0 either. Perfectly servicable under the circumstances.

Afridi is a real crack up. He was playing like he had a bus to catch, or maybe he thought the run rate was 14 per over instead of 7.
A smart innings by him and pakistan would of won easily, yet the idiot tried to hit EVERY ball for SIX.
The waste of razzaq pretty much summed up pakistans waste of a win.

I predict they get thrashed on sunday.

I have no need to defend them. Every umpire that has umpired any cricket has made mistakes and every umpire that will umpire will make mistakes.

You for some reason cant grasp that fact and have deluded yourself into believing that there is a conspiracy by the Australian umpires to favor the Australian team.

Its something you need to deal with not me, you will never be able to watch the cricket and enjoy the game while you cant watch without trying to convince yourself there is a conspiracy going on to favor the Australians.

I very happy to see Australia win the first final and appreciate the fine game played by both the Australians and the Pakistanis plus I appreciate the effort and good job done by the umpires under the stress of such games.

I will allways take that view with me regardless of whether Australia win or lose and really do not care if you cant reconsile yourself to the fact it was a good game played in good spirits with outstanding play and excellent control by the umpires.

You appear to be the only loser along with the others that find it all to distressing to deal with umpiring and I'm sure you will find the Pakistani players are happy with tonights game even though they didnt win the points but can hold their heads high after producing a very encouraging performance.

pakistan really need to work on that top order it not getting any runs for then and putting them behind the eight ball too often. Younis Khan has to play in the next game at number 3 or at 6 and Malik plays at 3. It was good to see Malik score some runs too bad he didn't go on with it.

Symonds back in form, not good news for NZ and England.

I still think Davis made few bad calls at the start of the game, but probably didn't have a big impact on the game, as Australia bowled themselves to victory. But the umpire at this level should be better regardless whether Australia were playing or BD. But i guess Davis is allowed to have on bad day, he has had a pretty good series prior to this.

Can u please get over this Australian thing and the fact that we all non-Australian supports think that the umpire are baised towards Australia. Cus most cricket fans don't care whether it is Australia playing or anyone else, u except a certain standard of umpiring. At the international level u shouldn't be making mutipule bad calls like Davis did.

Just because you didnt like some of Davis's calls it does not mean they were bad, why cant you accept that.
