I think the finals is going to be a one-sided game.I wouldn't have said that had Pakistan got Akhtar and co in their line-up, but unfortunately they don't have it and i don't see how the Rao's and Rana's can trouble the great Aus batters.
Wait a sec. Am I missing something here? Didn't Pakistan just win two games back to back without Akhter with somebody getting a 4-wicket haul in both games?

I hope Pakistan win this series so Akhtar can realize that he is not the Pakistani bowling attack!!! He literally said yesterday that it feels wierd when he is playing his very best and the other 10 players aren't doing anything.

What.....an....a$$!!!!

It could also have the reverse effect and make him play even better. Having said that, it is a sad time for the Pakistani team.
Its a possibilty, either way I don't think its fair to him.

Whatever it takes!!!
I think Pakistan can defeat Australia, as we saw on Sunday. But, the problem is can they do it on the big stage? I hope they play to their potential, then they have a very real chance of winning.

Having said that, I wanted the Windies to reach the final, because I thought in an ODI game, a great knock from Lara can so easily get the Windies a win. But with Pakistan, without Akhthar, there is no one who stands out as a match winner, although that could be a good thing, if they all play their parts and fit in well. I think the Pakistani fielding and running between the wickets will be crucial. Their batting is pretty good, their bowling is not ordinary but it is their fielding and the running between the wickets which will have to be at its best, if they have to push Australia and beat them.

BTW, I wish West Indies had done better but really the better side won and if at all the Aussies are to be given a fight then between these two sides it has to be Pakistan who can do it.
Certainly the better side on the day won, but I think the West Indies - firing on all cylinders - would be a better bet against the Aussies than this Pakistan side.

The bowling, notwithstanding a superb performance from Rana against the Windies, is arguably even less penetrative than the West Indian attack and the top 6 is certainly less experienced and, in my view, more vulnerable.

The hitting of Razzaq and Afridi is a great weapon, but will generally only turn a close game rather than transform a one-sided one. I'd be very (pleasantly) surprised if Australia didn't win 2-0 and a litte (unpleasantly) surprised if West Indies didn't turn Pakistan over in the Caribbean this Summer.

I think the bowling is very ordinary, but agree that their fielding (which needs to improve) and running between the wickets (which needs to maintain the surprising intensity shown on Monday night) are key.

LOL! this got to be a big joke.

Pakistan will lose it 2-0 to Aus. Ponting knows that,Inzi knows that, infact we all knows that!
It seems all you ever do is put down Pakistan. It's getting very irritating.

I expect Australia to win convincingly.
You can't be so sure. If they were tests, then yes, easily. But in ODIs, the better team can lose. Although Australia has only lost once so far, West Indies had them in one match but rain screwed it up, and another they had them reeling and should have bowled them out for a cheap score. The first match with Pakistan and Australia was not a breeze for Australia either, Clarke made 97 but if he wasn't dropped, Pakistan could have won. So just the one easy win on West Indies and the other easy thrashing of Pakistan. Australia has shown they are not invincible in this tournament. Most likely, they will win. But I doubt it will be a walk in a park like the test series.

Where were you when bret lee hit a six at the last ball to win australia the game that almost wasnt a win for australia.Where were you when india in vb series could not even beat australia where were you when india was getting there ass wipped by australia in world cup final where were you when ganguly almost cried after india lost to australia. :D

Where were you when pakistan beat australia on sunday.Where were you when afridi hit 56 runs from 20 some balls.Where were you when pakistan defeated india at kolkata and the crowd went pathatic.Where were you when pakistan beat india four times in a row.

I hope you get banned

Pakistan are a surprise package. If you open them too quickly, Afridi will explode. If you are too cautious, Afridi will fire. Either way, he is likely to hit some sixes. My point is, never be too sure that Afridi will explode. :D :D

Australia are the obvious favourites, but Pakistan can pull off a great show.

Akhtar does give away a lot of extras as well and isn't overall consistent. :-O Maybe that is why they won against the Windies-although I doubt it. :)
So does the rest of second string Pak bowlers!
