P.S. Forgive my ignorance, but FTB??
It was me who said he was passed prime.

Yeh, I am also confused as to FTB.

ill rephrase it and say he's passed his best international form... A case of the Ian Harvey syndrome... lol

*gasp* you missed the steve waugh interview on his 100 in the SCG
Well actually, the ridiculous thing is, the first rain break was skipped. The second rain break, they showed the Perfect Day thing. Then they came back and said "Well the match has been abandoned..." Typical.

When did Ian Harvey ever have that kind of form? Hes "freak"ishly mediocre.

Does anyone read/post on SportNetwork ICF? I have read some hilarious Shoaib Akhtar song lyrics there.

Probably never batting form (maybe one game somewhere), but bowling form I'd point you back to the 2003 World Cup.

What about it? He was pretty good, sure, but no where near the kind of spectacular that Symonds was in the same tournament.

FTB = Flat Track Bully. One of TEC (tooextracool)'s favourite acronyms (multi-letter abbreviations).

For god's sake, Put Symmonds as a 12th man, no more, it seems that Australia are batting with 10 rather than 11, Symmonds has no form since the NZ 1st ODI. And I sometimes wonder who put Symmonds in thier AUS ODI XI, Only good for 12th man, Can be used as a good fielder!

I think it'd be hilarious if he was dropped (Oh my bad, 'rested') a few days after he is named in their all time ODI XI.

I know he's had 5 ducks in his past 6 innings, but I thought that not much could be read into last night's one. The Australians were given a ridiculous run chase and five of the batsmen finished in single-figures. It just so happened that Symonds finished with the duck, but it's not like the others did any better.

I don't know what it is about his home ground either, I can't recall him scoring more than 10 in a ODI at the gabba.

The shot was a little concerning though as it really wasn't any kind of a shot, if you get what I mean. He's got to get back to hitting the singles and waiting on the boundaries. It's odd though, because Symonds scored the fastest ING fifty this season in between the chappell-hadlee series and the vb series, so it's not like he has been terribly out of form all along.

Interestingly, from my count about 3-4 of these ducks have come after Ponting has been dismissed.

Anyway, I don't think he should or will be dropped. He was confident as always in the fielding yesterday, it's just his batting confidence that is the problem.

and I have a question - since when was it 20 overs to constitute a match? I always thought for ODIs that it was 25 overs?

20 overs for a 50 over game is a disgrace - that could mean 40 overs overall if it rained enough, which is not even as many as one full innings. Talk about ripping off the spectators.

It was changed early last year I believe. I first remember it in effect in the Natwest Series opener.

It was not ridiculous. Given some of the D/L adjustments made in the past, Australia got off easy!

He's not picked to field!
