I'll probably get mauled for saying this...

but as of late the same could be said for Ponting.
Agreed, he seems to have lost a lot in the slips lately. Even by his own admission he's not happy with his fielding.

two words to say - BOWLING HOGGY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Two words to say - **** ****

Lee was the star of the show for bowling. Hogg was riding his coattails.

And to think that i have all 4 Aussie bowlers on my Fantasy cricket team !!

I'm in heaven.
Unfortunately for you, my top team (ie the one in 1st not 2nd place) had Hogg, Lee and Martyn before I made today's transfer! :D

no matter what Cassie may say, Hogg bowled very well last night. Nice flight, they did have trouble picking him.
HOWEVER, i did in fact cry last night. Holding was asked by Benaud if there are any Left-arm spinners in the Windies at the moment. He couldnt think of any. DAVE MOHAMMED!!!! what a shame...

and for anyone who watched the match, you would have seen Lee bowl amazingly. Crazy pace at a good line and length as well as movement away from the right-hander.

but Kasper is better I guess eh TEC? I believe in the last 3 matches that Lee and Kaspo have played in together, Lee has performed better. Lee got Gayle, Sarwan and Marshall and Kaspo got Dillon :D

It helps when Lee opens the bowling and Kaspa continually has catches dropped off his bowling.

It is interesting to read TEC's comments about Brett Lee. He doesn't rate him because he believes is RPO is too high, but he does bowl at the start of the innings, through the middle overs, and at the death which can be accredited to his rpo and he does get wickets (and can be pretty accurate on some occassions).

On another thing, I think the West Indies need to scrape this idea about playing on two specialist bowlers in their ODI team. I had to agree with Michael Holding when he said that it is all well and good saying playing two specialist bowlers won them the ICC CT and should stick with it, but it is in different conditions and are definatly one bowler short in their team (I don't really rate Marlon Samuels that highly).

its actually last 2, kaspa bowled far better than lee did against england. and it doesnt change the fact that kaspa performed better for the previous 7-8 games that the 2 had played together.

if hes bowling at the death, its also going to contribute towards his low bowling average as he'll get cheap wickets towards the end of an inning. and just for the record, i dont not rate lee in ODIs, but i do believe that he is extremely overrated and that kaspa is a much better bowler in ODIs than him.

167 wickets @ 22.6

Lets look at some of the players he has dismissed the most

Laxman
Tendulkar
Gayle
Anwar
Boucher
Ganguly
Kirsten
Fleming
Stewart
Trescothick

Definiately not the sort of bowler who is worth rating.

you might want to put on your glasses to read the first line of the quote, 'i dont not rate lee'

Im still not convinced about Shane Watson...but I guess he probably needs time to establish himself.
I am convinced.. He's not a good ODI bowler at all, I think he would do reasonably well if he was given the chance to bat up the order but he's not going to get that chance and rightly so atm.

Haveing said that there isn't really a good reason for him to be in the ODI team.

I rate him alot in the longer form of the game though, and given time i'm sure he can develope his OD game more as well.

Definiately not the sort of bowler who is worth rating.

I could be wrong though.
