Yeah, Hinds is a bit of a hit & miss player, but Gayle and he seem to like batting together. I'm sure we'll both get it wrong and the team will look nothing like the teams we have chosen.
I'm almost certain Chanderpaul will bat down the order, not at 3. At 3 will be Sarwan I think.

I thought Lara was a 3.
Sarwan has been given more of a role at 3 lately. I don't mind Lara at either spot.

Actually, if Samuels and/or Powell were in good touch, I'd ask Lara to open with Gayle. He's looked the goods there the last few times he's done it. Though admittedly those times have been spread fairly far apart. Imagine Gayle and Lara flowing within the first 15 overs.

Historically west indies usually lose to australia when they bat second. The australians build up a good total and the windies get choked out by the pressure during the chase and collapse. Seen it so many times over the years especially in the world series.

Holy crap!! What a catch!! Unbelievable!

Ponting's start has been less than convincing I might add!!

Well I've lost count of how many times they've shown that catch and I still can't believe it!

WI looks really sharp.

Hayden has sucked for the last year in one dayers i dont think they should bother with him anymore.

Tooextracool are you indian?

The reason Hafeez was kept out of the team was a lack of brain and talent , all while batting though.
.
If that is the case then why is Inzamam or the other cricketers playing in Pakistan team then :p

It was a 20 ball 1.

His limitations as an opening batsmen were really exposed by some L&L stuff from Pollock.

Jokes aside, this guy has talent. He is young and can improve, if Hafeez can be dropped permanently on the basis of few performance then Inzamam should be thrown out forever for his poor performance in the present Aus series.

So, 1 match [effectively one inning] constitues a series now?

Merv Dillon seemed totally out of sorts today.

I personally think that Aussie's could have scored at least 20 more, they got a big lazy at the end though. Anyway, good performance, will probably win them the match. But WI strength seems to be its batting, and they are formidable at chasing so we might have an exciting game in our hands here.

Right, so less than 4 hours away now. Here's hoping the boys can at least give a good showing, if not get a victory.

My team would be...

CH Gayle
S Chanderpaul
WW Hinds
BC Lara *
RR Sarwan
MN Samuels - over Powell due to some match practice on tour.
DJJ Bravo
CO Browne +
IDR Bradshaw
M Dillon
PT Collins

.
That bowling attack looks weaker than even the pakistani bowling attack. Aus batsmen would take such an attack to cleaners really.

Would not, did. :)

[And can someone explain to me the LOGIC of wringing EIGHT overs out of Sarawan when Bravo couldn't even complete his ten]
