How many overs would SA need to knock it off to overtake England and/or Windies,or is that not possible?

Thought Scotland had a competitive total, clearly not.

31 England and 34 west indies
Oh so nailed on for top then if they keep at the rate they are going.

Pretty big missed opportunity from England yesterday then. Bowling changes cost them in that chase.

Albeit threw away lot of wickets with bat too.

It's a talented SA U19 group , the only thing they are missing are good spinners, it's a bit of a Trump card at this level..

However more important than winning, the majority of this young crop have shown they can play at a high level so already a success in my view.

A clear argument for why final group games should be played simultaneously. Massive help for SA, although that will go wrong should SL beat Aus tomorrow.

England should make it through to Super 6 stage on NRR assuming it's group winners and the best two second placed.
Grp A: Bangladesh 2nd with 4 pts NRR .374
Grp B: England 2nd with 4 pts NRR .895
Grp C: Top two to play eachother Australia and Sri Lanka both have good NRRs (3.9 & 1.6) have just played the weaker sides in the group.
Grp D: New Zealand 2nd 4 pts NRR .387

chances are its India, Sth Africa, England, Australia, Pakistan and either Sri Lanka or New Zealand

That’s not how the Super 6 works here. The top 3 in each group go through to two groups of 6. England’s group joins Australia’s. You then only play two games, you don’t play the team that finished in the equivalent position in their group.

So SA by winning the group will likely play SL and Zim whilst England play Aus and Zim. It was a big advantage to win the group and the fact they knew what was required seems a bit wrong.

Wow NZ got stomped. Guess not surprising as Pakistan comfortably beat Afghanistan and Nepal while we had close wins over them.

Its a thing that cricket and rugby seems to not care about. I much prefer the football way of all final games in a group at the same time.

This got missed in everything else going on yesterday but a good knock by Ryan Hicks last night in the chase to follow on his impressive performance in the U19 Test against England last year. He's another one along with Konstas who should feel there's a Shield place there for him in the not too distant future given the quality, or lack thereof, of the blokes currently occupying those spots in the NSW side, if he can really put together a good string of performances at this tournament.

From the bowling point of view, Vidler continues to be the standout. He looks like a real prospect to me.

West Indies v Sri Lanka tomorrow in the Super 6. We'll need to bat better to progress. Time for Jordan Johnson to dominate with a big score rather than an imperious 30....

This commentator has impressive knowledge about the background of the players. Clearly has been chatting with the parents who are there following the tournament. Interesting comparison of Schroeder's bowling style to Neil Wagner.

We are in a bit of trouble vs West Indies but this looks like a challenging pitch, come on Sri Lanka get to 200 and you never know

One Super 6 looks pretty much decided already, hard to see India and Pakistan not going through.

WI need to win here with a large NRR boost. Given that both SA and Eng have to play Zimbabwe, you'd think they'd have big wins. But it's hard to see how Aus and SA don't qualify from this group either. It's a bizarre set up and the group win by SA over Scotland has had huge ramifications on this table (which it should never do).

Yeah like wtf is this format. If you have a second stage then things should start fresh, manifestly unfair that how hard you bash up minnows has any bearing on your likelihood to progress through the next stage.

I don't mind carrying results through, but surely you then play all the teams from the other group, not just 2 out of 3 of them.
