It's a talented SA U19 group , the only thing they are missing are good spinners, it's a bit of a Trump card at this level..

However more important than winning, the majority of this young crop have shown they can play at a high level so already a success in my view.

England should make it through to Super 6 stage on NRR assuming it's group winners and the best two second placed.
Grp A: Bangladesh 2nd with 4 pts NRR .374
Grp B: England 2nd with 4 pts NRR .895
Grp C: Top two to play eachother Australia and Sri Lanka both have good NRRs (3.9 & 1.6) have just played the weaker sides in the group.
Grp D: New Zealand 2nd 4 pts NRR .387

So SA by winning the group will likely play SL and Zim whilst England play Aus and Zim. It was a big advantage to win the group and the fact they knew what was required seems a bit wrong.

This got missed in everything else going on yesterday but a good knock by Ryan Hicks last night in the chase to follow on his impressive performance in the U19 Test against England last year. He's another one along with Konstas who should feel there's a Shield place there for him in the not too distant future given the quality, or lack thereof, of the blokes currently occupying those spots in the NSW side, if he can really put together a good string of performances at this tournament.

WI need to win here with a large NRR boost. Given that both SA and Eng have to play Zimbabwe, you'd think they'd have big wins. But it's hard to see how Aus and SA don't qualify from this group either. It's a bizarre set up and the group win by SA over Scotland has had huge ramifications on this table (which it should never do).

I don't mind carrying results through, but surely you then play all the teams from the other group, not just 2 out of 3 of them.
