31 England and 34 west indiesHow many overs would SA need to knock it off to overtake England and/or Windies,or is that not possible?
Thought Scotland had a competitive total, clearly not.
Oh so nailed on for top then if they keep at the rate they are going.31 England and 34 west indies
That’s not how the Super 6 works here. The top 3 in each group go through to two groups of 6. England’s group joins Australia’s. You then only play two games, you don’t play the team that finished in the equivalent position in their group.England should make it through to Super 6 stage on NRR assuming it's group winners and the best two second placed.
Grp A: Bangladesh 2nd with 4 pts NRR .374
Grp B: England 2nd with 4 pts NRR .895
Grp C: Top two to play eachother Australia and Sri Lanka both have good NRRs (3.9 & 1.6) have just played the weaker sides in the group.
Grp D: New Zealand 2nd 4 pts NRR .387
chances are its India, Sth Africa, England, Australia, Pakistan and either Sri Lanka or New Zealand
Its a thing that cricket and rugby seems to not care about. I much prefer the football way of all final games in a group at the same time. That’s not how the Super 6 works here. So SA by winning the group will likely play SL and Zim whilst England play Aus and Zim. It was a big advantage to win the group and the fact they knew what was required seems a bit wrong.
Yeah like wtf is this format. If you have a second stage then things should start fresh, manifestly unfair that how hard you bash up minnows has any bearing on your likelihood to progress through the next stage. One Super 6 looks pretty much decided already, hard to see India and Pakistan not going through.
WI need to win here with a large NRR boost. Given that both SA and Eng have to play Zimbabwe, you'd think they'd have big wins. But it's hard to see how Aus and SA don't qualify from this group either. It's a bizarre set up and the group win by SA over Scotland has had huge ramifications on this table (which it should never do).
I don't mind carrying results through, but surely you then play all the teams from the other group, not just 2 out of 3 of them.Yeah like wtf is this format.
