Rain might not save us from the look of things. Given what's happened in the last few warm-up matches we've played, it looks like we might really miss Corey Anderson's bowling.

Anderson sounds like hes going to be injury prone and will go down the route of Oram while I reckon Dougie will be an expensive bowler who can bat like Franklin. Hopefully one of these guys can become a future allrounder

Don't wanna hate on Jimmy (and I'm sure he'll correct me if I'm wrong) but when I saw him bowling I really thought 130kph would be his absolute max atm. However, his pace seemed to have a lot of surprise factor to it as he has a very relaxed run-up- it's short and he doesn't really gather any momentum at all, just sort of saunters in and seems to pick up all his pace literally in the last split-second before he delivers the ball.

Actually it's very hard to judge as the ball seems to come out of his hand unnaturally fast given his run-up and action.

How come Anderson isn't bowling?

Our batting always looked way stronger than our bowling for this World Cup...will be interesting to see how we get on when the cup games start.

He picked up a shoulder injury a couple of weeks ago IIRC. Press release said he'll be out for 6 weeks so good to have his batting mustn't be easy playing with a fresh shoulder injury

It is Afghanistan though. Their ages are less reliable than Pakistan's or Bangladesh's, FFS.

I have mentioned here how Pashtuns actually look older for their listed ages, I will not be surprised if most of these guys are as old as their listed ages.

Play will not get under way on time on the second day of warm up matches, the umpires will look at the grounds again at around 10.30am New Zealand time.

On the Afgani players, I have heard Mr Zaki is the oldest player in the squad at 30, while they have a few others who are in their twenties.

71/6 now...it's a demolition job. Jimmy not getting a bowl so far today, I guess him getting absolutely pummeled yesterday had something to do with it :laugh: Hopefully continues to go well with the bat though.

New Zealand look like they're going to chase down England's total fairly easy, they only need 30 odd runs with 20 overs left. Neesham's just scored 50 also.

Ireland looked to be coasting against the Windies at 179-5 and ended up being all out for 183 :huh:
