Was just wondering do you think this will be the first bunch of Irishman to play test cricket for their country?

Going to the Pak vs WI game in Palmy on friday, any players I should look out for? Looking forward to seeing Braithwaite. BTW why no games in Wellington? severely pissed off about that!

A guy who travelled with the Irish squad in oz said that their average age was twenty-one.

Australia went down to Bangladesh by 20 runs but Hazlewood didn't bowl.

Pakistan went down to SA by 10 runs.

Who, Ireland's? That's really odd. Considering how reliable birth certificates are there, it should be really difficult for players to fake their age. Or is there some ICC rule where the associate countries are allowed some players older than 19?

Yikes, Trevon Griffith absolutely murdered Pakistan's opening bowlers! RRR down to barely 5 for the rest of the match.

Yes Braithwaite is certainly one of the better players but also Yannick Ottley and Andre Creary are said to be talented players, the one who could make a big impact for us i believe is the young 17 year old spinner Jomel Warrican, he's meant to have a big future ahead of him and he was the one who tore into Ireland to get the win for the Windies in the recent practice match, one thing i want to know is are there any left arm fast bowlers in the side? does anyone know? we've got so many left arm spinners coming through the ranks but the dearth of left arm pacers in the seniors set up is just ridiculous right now so hopefully there's at least one in this u19's side to look out for.

As for the competition, i've got a good feeling WI will go far in this one as we seem to have very good prospects in all areas of the side.

Braithwaite is a proper opening batsman who sets himself to bat all day. It's about time we produced a young player with that mindset, so although we lost the game and the middle order performed terribly there were still some positive signs.

Btw is it just me or are a lot of Under 19 fast bowlers being carted around mercilessly? It's not the greatest omen for the future of international cricket that the spinners are the ones doing all the damage.
