mate there is absolutely zilch happening off the seam compared to the morning session.

Tuffey is getting a bit of movement but the others are just bowling straight.
There must be somthing happening of the seam I cant beleve Styris could clean bowl Ponting otherwise.

I's obviously doing nothing compaird to the first 12 overs of New Zealands innings though.

I'll remind everyone that Bevan has been the thorn in NZ for the last few years, I wouldn't be surprised if he steals victory from the jaws of defeat.

The only ball that moved a little was Tuffey's wicket off Hayden.
Styris just bowled a straight, yorker length ball to Ponting & he played all over it.

oh come on, you can't be serious about dropping Hayden?
Yeah I guess not but that does not change the fact I think matyn would be a better opener in ODI's.

Having said that I would not change the oppeners If i could because I dont think Hayden could bat anywere else.

Sure Bevan may not always play well, but these are the types of games that he thrives on & thats gotta make him valuable.

must have swung in or somthing? was it a slower ball.

I am not disputing you but seems wired it's been along time since I have seen Ponting yorked especialy by somone of Styris pace.

Clarke is playing some good shots although Oram is helping him out a little with some slow deliveries that are sitting up to be hit.

yep he is probably the best batsman to have in your team when you are chasing a total.

Well there's no other spot for Hayden. And at the moment I would not advocate dropping him, he is a fine player, but if he doesn't pick up, then the selectors will solve the problem for him. It's one thing to have a fine batsman as Hayden, but he has to continue to play well. Lets hope he gets past this.

Do whatever with the openers, but I think Clarke at #5 is brilliance.

Eclipse lol..I will sh*t you not, Ponting played over a straight ball..there was nothing else to it.

NZ need to get rid of Harris quickly, if he's not scoring runs he's making stupid mis-fields.

He really does have every shot in the book.

Clarke & Vettori are having a great duel...Clarke is scoring the boundaries but a few have been risky.

Yeah I like the look of Clarke, he looks very relaxed & confident & seems as though he's seeing the ball very early.

Linda

International Vice-Captain
Seems like Clarkes really going for it. Hope the selectors are watching...!

lol Clarke always goes for it. And usually it is to the oppositions detriment. He turns it on like an afterburner.

Who was it against last season that he hit 4 sixes in a score of 39 for NSW? That was more than just class.

NZ are getting to the point where they really need another wicket or this could get away from them again.
