Agree with this...We've not been #1 for far much longer than we've been #1. As long as the team isn't devoid of entertaining players, we'll watch them play. We survived 0-3 to Australia, 0-2 to South Africa, and the match fixing crisis. We'll outlast this phase.
I think this is my new favourite post in this thread.I'd forgotten that Cook might get out at some point.
That's a stretch, tbh. Admittedly it's not quite as strong as India's on paper, but any team who can call on the services of Dilshan, Sangakkara, Samaraweera & the two Jayawardenes is libelled by "sub-standard".Gotta say I'm pretty shocked with this Indian performance didn't expect them to beat England in England but still expected them to compete through the series, Sri Lanka even with a sub-standard test batting line-up really made England work hard for their wickets and that too in bowler friendly conditions, so one would have expected a much stronger Indian batting line-up to do a lot better but they have looked absolutely clueless.
England have played well but lets be honest they have been nowhere near as good as India have made them look, from what I can make out India just seems to be resting on their laurels and its kind of reflected in the way they have prepared for this series and the kind of selections they have made right through.
Indian batting performance is also kind of reminiscent to Australia's in the Ashes in the sense the batsmen from both sides have been guilty of being not patient enough and have lost their wickets trying to fish outside the off-stump or by attempting poor flashy shots, people like Dravid and Hussey have had success for their respective sides against this English attack because they showed far more discipline than any of their team-mates.
This series and the last Ashes were suppossed to be great adverts for test cricket but the quality of cricket on display in both of these series has done more harm to game than doing it any good and its just concerning to see this continuous drop in standard of test cricket even among the top cricketing nations.
Steady. It's not like India have a 6' 5" bowler or anything.Spare me days, Nasser commenting the Indian batsmen are conplaining
About not being able to see from the Birmingham end.
This raises two points:
1. Why would you want to look at Birmingham?
2. It's apparent from the way they're batting they have their eyes closed anyway.
Appalling whinging that from India. Fmd England racked up 6 for 14 million. Stop bitching tendulkar you whinging arsehole. Such a sense of entitlement. Divot.
