Depends what your idea of competitive is. Sure there have only been four realistic winners of a GS in the last decade but every one of them has been really competitive among the elite few in the last 4/5 years, even the French.

Nah, sorry, the last few years have been better, but the French was a snooze for a bit, apart from Soderling. I'm not talking about the other slams, just the French, the others have been hugely competitive between the 4. Some truly classic matches too.

Both Rafa and Noval only lost one set each getting to the final this year, I think? The final wasn't the highest quality, I was harsh to call it poor, but it wasn't great IMHO. The guy who won it now has won 9/10. There where some good matches along the way. Yet it just seemed to click on to the inevitable finish.

Novak was favourite all tournament until the final when the market jumped on Rafa ftr. Lot of articles written following the final saying everyone was wrong to doubt Rafa heading in.

I understand your point, but at the end of the day Novak has been primed to win in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. The fact Rafa has been able to win 5 RGs before then, get a seriously elite contender and hold him off in the last 4 years to win another 4 RGs (albeit with the help of Fed in 2011) is incredible.

Novak had to win one of 2011 or 2013. Two massive missed opportunities. Poor guy. Hopefully he eventually gets one.

soderling's upset of nadal has to be the biggest upset of the open era…i cannot imagine a tougher ask in tennis than to beat rafa at rolland garros...

Yeah looks like he smoked Stanislas (sorry I mean Stan).

Fed beat Nishi in straights.

Also Lopez being Spanish but awesome on grass always makes me smile.

Doubt Grigor can win Wimbledon even though he won Queen's. He is unbelievable to watch but has too many lapses in a match. I mean Feli Lopez should have beaten him in straights itbt.
