Cirstea does alright for herself.
Such wonderful shoulders tbf.Stosur gooooooooooooooooooooone.
I'd say the weight of expectation on her shoulders was too great, but I reckon she'd be able to carry it.
A true fan would know this ffs.btw can we have confirmation on the L00ch situation??? Has he retired?
Yeah I kind of agree with that. There are different aspects of mental strength though. Hewitt has tenacity in the bucket loads, but is really a pretty **** clutch player. The amount of times he double faults in crucial points is ridiculous. So often (especially against the tougher opponents) he has to come from behind in the game to eventually win it as well...he is a poor front runner and chokes frequently when he is in a commanding position. Tomic at this stage is probably lacking in the tenacity department a little. I get the impression he gives up if he is starting to get behind in a match. I'm sure that side of his game will get better though as he improves his endurance and gets more experience. On the other hand, it looks like he might have an innate tendancy of winning the big points and against the big opponents, which is a great skill to have. Thought the game against Verdasco was very atypical, in that he actually seemed to choke a bit, but fought through and went the distance regardless. If I had to pick I much prefer clutch players, like Federer, than tenacious players like Nadal. Think it's a much rarer talent to come by.This may be controversial, but I think Tomic is by far the more mentally stronger player out of him and Hewitt.
Hewitt is a fighter and he'll scrap but Tomic just has that calmness about himself on court. Really consider Hewitt to be mentally fragile.
Both ****s thought ftr.
Hmm, for such a clutch player Fed loses a lot of break points on Rafa's serve in French Open finals.Yeah I kind of agree with that. There are different aspects of mental strength though. yeah I didn't mean they possess one or the other, players at their level are obviously going to have both qualities to some extent. That being said though, imo Fed, at least in his prime, had a clutch ability far beyond what Nadal has ever had. Think it is easy to get that impression with Nadal because he tries ridiculously hard for every single point, whether it be a pressure situation or not. That's not what a clutch player is to me though...it is when a player actually lifts their game from some baseline level in pressure sitations - e.g. Fed is renowned for his ability to come up with aces etc. when he is facing a break point.Hmm, for such a clutch player Fed loses a lot of break points on Rafa's serve in French Open finals.
They're both clutch for the record. Just thinl your insinuation that Rafa isn't clutch on the big points crazy. See Wimbledon 2008 and French Open 2011,
He's also the hitting partner for Hewitt since he failed to get through the qualifying singles.vvitstl.
Obv only concerned with his singles career.
Vale an Australian sports legend.
