Sampras in his latter Wimbledons and US Open and Federer in his first few Wimbledon titles did..Are Australian commentators the only ones who have an obsession with every player "coming to the net more"? Fmd no wonder our tennis stocks are low, no one has serve-volleyed to a Grand Slam title since Rafter's second US Open.
Sampras was pretty much a pure serve and volleyer in his latter years. Federer also served and volleyed on both serves when they played in Wimbledon 2001 and in his first win in 2003.Fair enough, I thought they came to the net a bit but didn't serve-volley like a Rafter did. You're likely right though, plenty on here watch more of it than I do.
Novak to win in 3 tbhCountdown for Novak vs. JMDP is on!
Can't wait! So pumped.
What an awesome game. Up there with SIC IMO.fmd, Arnaud Clement is still on the circuit?
Always reminded me of Meyer from Super Tennis:
Eh? That happens at every Grand Slam in the world if you buy "centre court" tickets.Strange that tickets are sold on a court-specific basis. Very unfair on the spectators.
Well, never been to one. But yeah, it was very unfair on the fans. Wawrinka showed surprising mental strength to come back against Tsonga, always thought of him as a player who folds when the pressure is on.Eh? That happens at every Grand Slam in the world if you buy "centre court" tickets.
Just that in every other Grand Slam centre court has lights so will always play the major match. Roland Garros are too ********.
French fans had every right to be pissed off. Awful scheduling.
French fans should also be pissed at Tsonga for throwing away a 2 sets and a break lead to have Wawrinka come back. Not only did that see a Frenchman lose, it cost them the chance to see Del Potro vs. Novak lol.
