Are Australian commentators the only ones who have an obsession with every player "coming to the net more"? Fmd no wonder our tennis stocks are low, no one has serve-volleyed to a Grand Slam title since Rafter's second US Open.

Sampras in his latter Wimbledons and US Open and Federer in his first few Wimbledon titles did..

Rubbish from Stosur. Deservedly dumped.

Can't believe she let that slip after being a break up in the third.

Fair enough, I thought they came to the net a bit but didn't serve-volley like a Rafter did. You're likely right though, plenty on here watch more of it than I do. :)

Sampras was pretty much a pure serve and volleyer in his latter years. :) Federer also served and volleyed on both serves when they played in Wimbledon 2001 and in his first win in 2003.

Wozniacki is getting her arse handed to her right now. Hantuchova up 6-1 3-0.

Goerges out to Bartoli.

When the **** is this match starting?

On a normal day I'd be excited for Tsonga vs. Wawrinka, but not today.

Another Slam failure for Wozniacki, what's new. Always a good result for tennis when someone blasts her off the court.

The French crowd is rioting. Apparently, they bought tickets to Court Philippe Chatrier knowing they'd get to watch JMDP-Djokovic there, but the Tsonga-Wawrinka match took so long to finish that it got rescheduled to Court Suzanne Lenglen, and they're not being allowed in to watch it! Strange that tickets are sold on a court-specific basis. Very unfair on the spectators.

One set all! Tantalisingly poised as the players go off for bad light. Del Potro's backhand is a WMD, effortless power. The forehand's not too bad either.

Eh? That happens at every Grand Slam in the world if you buy "centre court" tickets.

Just that in every other Grand Slam centre court has lights so will always play the major match. Roland Garros are too ********.

French fans had every right to be pissed off. Awful scheduling.

French fans should also be pissed at Tsonga for throwing away a 2 sets and a break lead to have Wawrinka come back. Not only did that see a Frenchman lose, it cost them the chance to see Del Potro vs. Novak lol.

Well, never been to one. :p But yeah, it was very unfair on the fans. Wawrinka showed surprising mental strength to come back against Tsonga, always thought of him as a player who folds when the pressure is on.

Wawrinka looked gone. Normally when top 20 players come back from 2 sets down it isn't THAT much of a surprise, but he really looked dead. Especially since he threw away a break in the second set.

How awesome was JMDP's second set against Novak by the way? Just great tennis. It still doesn't look like he can take another two sets from Novak, but you never know.

He's got Novak playing slightly different to how he's played in the past. Novak seems to want to end the point a little earlier than usual, and its resulting in more errors. That's purely through the pressure of JMDP's weight of shot. WAFG!

Yeah, JMDP's power is unbelievable when he has his feet set. Can also hit amazing shots on the run. Serves big on the important points. Next to impossible to beat him when he puts everything together.

I just hope he doesn't keep going to Novak's backhand like he did in the first set. You cannot penetrate that area of Novak's game. He is unstoppable on that wing.

If he primarily goes to the forehand (particularly when serving, like he did four times when he was 15-40 when serving for the set) he has a chance.

Novak taking control after being two break-points down. Got 20 quid on him at 9-2 for this tournament, so I'm not hoping for a classic myself.
