Roger Rashid tipping again this morning on the radio (he's been in good form).

Reckons Hewitt-Roddick is 50-50, and Little Lleyton is well in it.

Simon, you'll be pleased to know he also tipped Haas in a boilover, and reckons Fed will win, but he'll be pushed. Said Murray to **** on Juan Carlos.

Haas can win no doubt, apart from the match against Cilic he hasn't played any physical tennis, he beat Djokovic a few weeks ago on this surface so hes a chance. The thing that worries me is overall match fitness, he hasnt played this many matches in a short space of time for quite a while, also the speed of the grass at Wimbledon is a lot faster than Halle and that will suit Novak. Tommy is confident and when he believes he can win he usually does, imo the match will come down to how much Haas wants to win it.

Gunnest game ever, am off work sick at the moment so dusted it off for a game yesterday arvo. Too easy even on the hardest level though. Usually as a challenge I play as Kournikova vs Roddick on Grass.
Yeah, I either use a chick or pick Henman and try to serve-volley every point, no exceptions.

Still usually win in 3.

Just played as Haas against Safin before only won 6-3 6-4 7-6. he hit over 50 aces against me, wouldnt have dropped a game if I could have read his serve.

Here's hoping Haas wins in 3 easy sets, otherwise it's going to be a late night watching Hewitt's match.

Haas is the player i would most like to see get through to the semis...of the others,I should say Murray...but he's Scottish...so ...

...Federer looks strong/confident,so he's likely to get through...

good days tennis ....:)

I reckon one of Hewitt, Haas or JCF will make it through to the semis. Haas probably the best bet, but wouldn't discount Ferrero against Murray. Tiebreakers will be the downfall for Lleyton against Roddick.

Yeah I originally cut out the rankings bit in the quote of Matt's post, and just mentioned "the Serena and Venus and then daylight of the rest", but it read poorly.

My point was that 4 individuals have dominated tennis over the last 5 years, its just that two of them are women opening schools in Kenya, running their own clothing line and boycotting major tournaments on racial grounds, whilst the other two are men who play tennis all year.
But the biggest influencing factor in who has won grand slams in the past decade has been Serena's fitness/interest levels. I understand why the rankings don't say she's no.1, but really being world no.1 woman or even grand slam winner in this period has to have a massive asterisk next to it given it almost certainly wouldn't have occurred had Serena been uninjured or out of tennis for personal reasons.

The exception to this is Venus at Wimbleton.

..no, I dont think that will be a given for Murray by any means... could be a good game to watch...

Victoria Azarenka is going to be something special in a few years. Reckon she'll lose to Serena tonight, but she often plays well against her.

Needs to just get her head right when she's not playing well. Should have beat Safina at the French earlier this year.

Has a grunt that lasts so long.
Azarenka's grunting is fair dinkum cheating. She's still doing it when her opponent hits the ball. I have no idea why more don't complain.

I reckon.

It's funny, I don't remember Venus and Serena doing it before Sharapova started vomiting between shots, I guess they started as a counter?

It should be outlawed ASAP. If you grunt spastically during a shot you forfeit the point.

I've got no problem with people grunting when they are exerting themselves, but when they do it for a drop shot they should be put up against a wall and shot.

It's gotten so bad, you turn on the TV late at night and you wake up the whole neighbourhood.

Had the tennis on yesterday....put the mute button on for most of the day... didn't hear one screach, groan or grunt... blissful....

Fairly depressing piece in the daily Mail today about no-one knowing who Safina is on Henman Hill.

Not depressing for the reasons they say though, it clearly shows more about the fact these idiots know nowt about tennis rather then how anonymous the worlds number 1 is.

I'm not the biggest tennis fan, but I know FFS, and lets face it I'm only posting in this thread to avoid the seventy-thousandth discussion of FCA.
