Thought Roger played some good tennis in that second set this morning, I dont think he'll lose to Djokovic this week.

Yeah, agreed and put some money on Roger at 2.10 (ludicrous!).

Roger's taken the first set 6-4, and generally played the better tennis.

Not over yet, because Novak came back from a set down in their last match I believe to win in 3.

Roger was up a break in the 2nd set (2-1), and then the rain came.

He's now been broken after the break, which has given Novak a life-line. 3-3 in the 2nd set right now.

If Djokovic wins this set I'll expect him to win this match, and I'll lose my money :(

Carn Roger.

Basically playing for runner-up, cos Nadal will smash either of them in the final
I'm watching the 2nd and 3rd best player on clay in the world play tennis, and again I repeat what I said a week earlier whilst watching Ferrer vs. Gonzalez.

Nadal will beat either of Roger or Novak comfortably (even considering Novak took a set off him at Monte Carlo), and he's not even in the final yet (still has to beat Gonzalez).

Wow.

Roger Federer is not the #2 player in the world.

Knew he'd lose if lost the 2nd set.

Was a break up in the 3rd as well. Choke.

In fairness to him, the rain interruption worked wonders for Novak. That being said, Roger still had chances after the rain interruption to have a double break, and failed to capitalise.

One thing I've realised about Roger when he plays the guns on clay (i.e. Nadal and Novak), he fails to conver his break point opportunities. This has been happening since 2007. He doesn't seem to fail to do so on other surfaces.

Not sure why that is.

he clearly isn't right now...he is the 3rd or more likely the 4th best in the world on current form, fans(not you) just seem to be unable to accept it...
Who is the second best player in the world? Murray? Dont see him in the final stages this week, Djokovic? Hasnt exactly been playing like a world number 2 this year. Federer has the ranking points over a 12th month period to say he is the second best player. Once he is over taken he will fairly not be number 2, right now he is.

it's certainly not federer....and murray is the 2nd best player in the world right now, just because he went out early in this tournament doesn't negate what a great year he has had so far, and djokovic is 3rd, he wasn't playing great to start this year but he has certainly picked up his game since....once again i am not talking about ranking points, i am talking about current form and i am not talking about a couple of weeks here but a few months dating back to the end of last year...ranking points take time to reflect that...the wta ranking points say that dinara safina is the best player in the world right now and she is obviously not, a certain pair of sisters are...although the reasons for this are different from the men's scenario, it points to the simple fact that rankings don't always reflect reality...

And Federer made a grand slam final whilst both Murray and Djokovic greatly underperformed in the Aust Open.

Yes that is credit to Federer for stepping it up, but I don't think you'll see Novak going out in the quarters due to heat stroke at any other grand slam, nor will Murray lose in a tight 5-setter when he has the flu. He also lost to Verdasco who was having a hot tournament.

Fact is, Roger hasn't beaten Murray, Nadal or Novak this year.

Very apologetic on behalf of Murray and Novak, it's not like Roger hasn't had his fair share of physical **** to overcome in the past year. Personally i'm not having Murray as number 2 until at least betters Roger's performance in a single slam event, which IIRC he has never, ever done. Novak would be number 2 but Roger's dip in form has largely coincided with one of his own.

Lol, you just keep coming here after Roger Federer losses Uppercut :p It'll continue for a while yet.

Btw, this Novak drop in form, consists of what exactly? He made the Miami final, he made the Monte Carlo final and took a set off Nadal, and he's just made the Rome final.

Novo's in fine form now- it's the tail-end of 2008 and start of '09 I'm referring to.

I'm not actually a big Federer fan. Prefer Nadal and always have done. Nonetheless, i think he's number 2 on merit and would consider it mildly embarrassing for tennis if Murray was the world's second best player. There's great potential there and i'm fairly confident he'll get there some day, but he hasn't properly delivered on his promise yet.

I've said what he has to do- better Roger's performance in a single slam event- before i'll consider him for the number 2 spot.

Actually I believe Novak is #2 in the world. The difference between Novak and Murray on clay is much larger than the difference between Murray and Novak on hard court.

Speaking of Novak, he's twice broke Rafa's serve to stay in the first set!!!

We've got a tie-break now!

oh dudes tell me when will a player be born that beats nadal right now... maybe a fighting pete sampars oder boris becker 2...

Translation: Nadal is too good, and is from Mars. Let him know when a player is good enough to beat him, who would have to be a mix of Boris Becker and Pete Sampras.

Well done, doing better than I am if you got that.
