Wow, I'm amazed at the Stepanek vs Verdasco scoreline.

Radek got pawned, I can't remember every betting on a match and losing so convincingly. :@

We must be the only Grand Slam where every spectator brings a national flag, and it aint an Australian one:dry:

Freakin' epic between Gonzalez and Gasquet! What a match!
Was so ****ing good. Both Gasquet and Gonzo were playing out of their skins!

Gasquet was injured but kept going, and Gonzo was unrelenting. I've never seen him so fired up, he was cutting sick at the umpires.

Crowd were off the hook too.

What's best about it all? I got on Gonzo when he was 2 sets down. Sweet

Hence the best atmospheres.

Yeah you have a few too many dickheads, but some of the atmosphere for the Aust Open tennis matches are sweet. Gasquet vs. Gonzo tonight was amazing for eg.

 @ the flares at the end. Could have done without that I guess.

My bet on Nadal @ 5.00 for the tournament is looking even tastier now.

Shame to see Melzer go out, he's one of my favourite players to watch. Murray played very well though.

Could feel the 'duffer' presence at Margaret Court Arena if truth be told.

It's probably been discussed here, but what do people think of Bernard Tomic & Brydan Klein? They would be our 2 best prospects, wouldn't they? Can anyone see them making the top 5-10 players in the world eventually?

Tomic has talent, and him being on centre court (not that he should have been) is a really good experience for him early on. I remember Rafa Nadal vs. Hewitt here at the Aust Open in 2005, and Rafa took him to 5 sets on centre court. From then, even though he lost to Hewitt, you just knew he was going to be a gun.

Tomic is obviously still thin and not built yet like a tennis player needs to be in the modern game (look at how fit and tough Murray is now, and Gonzalez etc.) but on talent alone, you couldn't help but be impressed by Tomic.

Spoke well in the interviews too, so unless his dad ****s him up, it looks like he has a solid head on his shoulders.

I haven't seen anything of Klein though.
