Some pretty high-level choking from Dementieva; serving for the match at one set & 5-2 up she then proceeds to lose 11 of the nest 12 games. Glad I tipped Safina.
Yeah, was a barrage of unforced errors to boot. Strange match, it was really Safina that started choking - but suddenly she stopped hitting errors and Dementieva went to pot.

Monfils seems to have run out of steam.

Loving Monfils and the way he stays in rallies until the opponent makes a mistake when going for a winner. The man has great court coverage and determination.

Got up this morning and was watching some of the replay Dementieva was up a set and 4-2 and thought it was a given, then clicked over to foxsports news and saw she lost and couldnt believe it.

Ivanovic through in a good match against Jankovic.

She was unbelievably hot as well [/stating the obvious]

Lol, there's nothing better in tennis for mine than seeing Nadal strut his stuff on a clay court. Ridiculous top spin from his forehand, chasing down every ball never willing to give up, and best of all, knowing he is better than everyone that steps on his court, but never underestimating them.

Remind me to email you a pic of Nadal flexing his biceps in the final when he beats Federer on Sunday night ;)

Monfils wins the second set!

YES! One set a piece, and I put money on Roger to win in 4 sets. He should win the next two night.

I'd probably prefer Monfils to win now, it'd be awesome!

Roger in 4, loving that bet

Roger gets his third shot at the French. Can he do it? History and Rafa's form says no.

Wow, no screwing around by the bookies anymore.

Normally Nadal vs. Federer on clay has Nadal paying something around 1.50, with Federer 2.30 or so.

They've finally caught on, and Nadal has started at 1.28. I expect some money to come on Federer soon, who is currently paying 3.75 (wow!).

Federer in 2005 (semis), and the 2006 and 2007 finals was playing better tennis in general than he is this year yet never looked like beating Nadal (3 sets, 4 sets and 4 sets). Whilst Nadal is only getting better and better (look at how he's absolutely dominated his opponents this year - Niemenen, Verdasco, Almagro and a fairly comfortable win vs. Djokovic bar the 3rd set where he was a double break up but it went to a tie-break).

Federer has also dropped sets to opponents he shouldn't have. Fair enough Monfils (who pushed Federer) and Gonzalez, but Montanes?

I just cannot see Federer doing it. It'd be immense though, and if he does it, it'll completely break the trend and will be simply due to mental strength, and the awe of the occasion.

Mind you, obviously far stranger things have happened in sport.

Champions step up when everything is against them. Federer has gone into the last two French Open finals with a real hope of winning, he had form and last year even beat Rafa on clay before the tournament. This year he's playing poorly, not looking at his fittest, would just be like a champion to put in an all time great performance and knock the favourite off.

Naaah, hate him. I hope R-Fed carves him up (unlikely to happen, but one can only hope).
