Ferrer hasn't been in the greatest form, although he really gave it to Santoro in the 2nd round. It's not an impossible match for Hewitt to win, but the fact its on clay and his lack of matches lately makes it seem pretty unlikely.

Both Dellacqua and Hewitt through to the 3nd round. :)
That comment, being so appropriate ATM, is the biggest indictment on the current state of Aussie tennis. Two players through to the 3rd round of a major, and we're happy.

Is there anyone onhis side of the draw who can feasibly beat the human sneer (Nadal)? Or is he, as I suspect, nigh on unbeatable here?

Injuries might beat him. Theres only two other guys that have a chance of winning clay court tournaments when Nadal is playing:

Federer - Just cause its Federer, even right now it doesn't look possible for him to beat Nadal on any surface. He beat Nadal in the Hamburg final last year so it could happen again somewhere one day.

Nalbandian - Big match player and has beaten all the top guys. At the top of his game on his day he is brilliant to watch and is scared of anyone. He's knocked out, so the title is Nadal's imo.

No one has a chance not even Djokovic, he's still too mentally weak to compete with Nadal over five hours on a clay court. Maybe in a couple of years.

Well, we were happy having someone get past the first round for the first time in 10 years. And then she took Jankovic to a tie-break, which I thought was a decent effort.

Serena Williams just got rolled by Srebotnik.

Awesome.
Agreed

Did you see her press conference? Lol'd quite hard, especially at the sight of her substantial arse leaving the picture as she walked about a second or 2 after her face did.

Wow, Wawrinka lets me down!

2 sets up vs. Gonzalez, and loses in 5.

Ferrer vs. Hewitt sounds like a good match. Hewitt must have fought, but Ferrer goes through in 5.

Yeah glad I picked Gonzalez, annoyed I didn't pick Stepanek to beat Robredo, not a huge fan of Robredo.

Okay, wtf?

Soderling is annihilated by Benneteau after dominating the first set
Wawrinka loses after being 2 sets up
Davydenko chokes to Ljubicic after being 2 sets up
Robby Ginepri keeps winning

Thank Christ I've stopped betting on the French for a few days. Would have lost plenty, particularly with Davydenko vs. Ljubicic. Genuinely shocked at that result.

Only one of those that shocks me us Ljubicic, only the fourth time he's reached the fourth round of a slam.

Pretty sure I claimed a matter of days ago that Wawrinka wouldn't make it to the fourth round too.

Some pretty high-level choking from Dementieva; serving for the match at one set & 5-2 up she then proceeds to lose 11 of the nest 12 games. Glad I tipped Safina.
