Bartoli was one of the favs I think the year she won and liked the surface. All I recall though from that year was the saltiest handshake from Aggie when she lost the semi final to Lisicki. Twas a corker of a match also tbf.

Wimbledon should be fun, not many of the elite players would have grass as their fav surface.

I think this is the biggest shock, Pennetta was a decent top 32 player for years, and as said Bartoli was a really good grass court player. Feel really sorry for Pavs, but hey according to social media, she's taking it well, which maybe the problem of her career.

Watching a replay at the moment. As unlikely a champion as she might be, it was a superb performance in the final.
