His real issue seems to be the mess created by PCB and ICC, as clear by his statements, ever cared to read that??

8-)
No, it's merely the latest thing which he has been offended by. His main, and initial, gripe - which virtually everyone recognises - is that he was not selected in both the squads. That's why he has been upset for the last FEW WEEKS (before the board didn't notify of him of his subsequent selection). Go back and read the stories (from the last few weeks) and inform yourself.

Whatever it takes!!!
Well, honestly, I think he deserved to be in both teams as well, but the way he has handled it is pathetic to say the least. Someone like Kumble has shown a lot more grace when his case for selection was actually more compelling than Inzy's. IMO, both of them were given a raw deal but Kumble is the one who is handling this better.

Look, he obviously never really wanted to play in the thing in the first place, and he wouldn't be the only member of the squad to have expressed that view (even if not totally in control of what they were saying at the time :p ). I wouldn't be surprised if this whole "confusion" has been concocted between him and the PCB to give him an excuse to pull out. The honour is in selection, but the playing is just an unfortunate extra. Inzamam was given the "unfortunate extra" without even the honour of selection.

I wish Flintoff and Harmison weren't playing personally. If one of them gets injured then some people will be very angry :@

lol...true. maybe the idiot that made the comment is one of those loose women that get snubbed by rich sportstars. maybe inzi ignored her and she pms'ed and signed up on this board and here she is. i think she has some sand in her ******.
Completely inappropriate.

First warning for you, continue down these lines and you'll find yourself banned.

Thats what you want to believe, what can i say about someone who has fixed views.

And in the LAST FEW WEEKS he was upset because he was not selected atall and not because he was not selected in both Squads like you suggested.

Pretty funny how a guy seems to dismiss the latter stories and keep telling other to consentrate on earlier ones 8-)

Choora ,that article is a bit slanted, obviously written by a Inzi supporter,If you read some of the other articles in papers it was more along the lines of Who the hell does this guy think he is telling the selectors where ,when, and in what games he must be selected in.
.
For God sake, that guy is a well known journalist, and in the article he has hardly said anything from himself but has only quoted Inzi's words.Just because the article doesn't suits ur argument you can't dismiss it or blame the journalist for it.

Weren't you arguing that he was upset only because he wasn't informed of his selection? Maybe you should 'consentrate' on being consistent.

I am disappointed by Inzi's about turn. He should have steadfastly refused and taken a stand against this crap selection panel for the world XI and their crappy selections and favouritisms !! May be he was forced into his about turn.

His record against Australia is rubbish? And currently no.1 test batsman "J. Kallis" has an avg. of 32, & others like GC Smith has an avg. of 28 agaisnt Australia...this must be rubbish too right??...no doubt they both are great batsman...but by calling Inzy rubbish is just not sane.
Yep those are rubbish records as well, the difference is however they've both got considerably better overall batting records than Inzi and they're both less of a liability in the field and they can both bowl a bit.

Inzi has decided to play

Inzamam finally agrees to play

Cricinfo staff

September 27, 2005

Inzamam-ul-Haq, the Pakistan captain, has finally agreed to play in the ICC Super Series one-off Test against Australia in October. The Pakistan Cricket Board released a statement saying Shaharyar Khan, chairman of the PCB, had spoken to Inzamam and explained the background of the genuine misunderstanding regarding his selection for the Super Series squads.

According to the statement, Shaharyar told Inzamam that in the interests of Pakistan cricket he should participate in the Super Series. In turn, Inzamam responded positively to the chairman's advice and agreed to play in the Test match at Sydney.

An official at the PCB told Cricinfo that the whole situation was nothing more than a "minor misunderstanding" between Inzamam and the board. Inzamam was unavailable for comment.

The u-turn follows Inzamam's decision to snub the Super Series yesterday, after he heard that he was selected only for the Test squad. The PCB had announced on Wednesday that Inzamam would be in both teams, but two days later the ICC said that he would feature in the six-day Super Test squad only, and that too as a replacement for Sachin Tendulkar. He was omitted from the one-dayers, with the ICC instead naming Chris Gayle and Rahul Dravid as replacements for Tendulkar and Herschelle Gibbs.

But he wont be playing in the final XI i would think....

Wow, what a great hissy fit from Inzy! I said to my wife when I read the news that he'd almost definitely reverse his decision and play in the end.

There's probably two possible causes for his tantrum - one is that Pakistan had assured him that he'd be playing in both teams, and he'd completely bought that... So he interpreted not being in the ODI side as being "dropped" for no reason.

But what might have really pi$$ed him off was the fact that he wasn't captain in the team he was named in. There's something to be said for this, too - but the ICC probably wouldn't have had the guts to take the captaincy off Smith (I would have been amazed if they'd done this even if they'd drafted Vaughan into the squad) as it would be a bit of a slap in the face to him; it's a bit damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Either way though, Inzy still would have been better off complaining about it but still playing. I guess that's what's happened in the end anyway.

sorry m8 but who do i blame for the article if not the journalist?
Just wanted to know chopra why you felt Inzi was not selected in the original squad ?
I think it was a combination of his record against Aus,and his general lack of fitness in the field, along with beind a non bowler all combined to stop selectors naming him in ODI,
Glad to see he has u turned though in the test but feel he might just have shot himself in the foot.
Just 4 the record i love watching Inzi bat .

Depends if he checks another wobbly when left out of the final 11!
Must say now though,What does his supporters now feel as they backed his decision all the way saying how poorly he was treated,What has really changed? It seems some poor work from the Pak board to tell him he is in both teams .Then upon finding out otherwise he makes quite a fuss, some would even say he sooked ,,But now im wondering what actually changed and made him change? It would not have been a thret to take away the captancy would it? Looks to me like he has been told to play or else,i really cant see any other reason for the dramatic about turn, wadda you think Marc????

I am a big time fan of Inzy. He is one of my favourite cricketers in the world. I also think he should be in any world XI chosen today.

Having said that, I am terribly terribly disappointed at the childish manner in which he has reacted to the whole affair.

I am surprised he did not recieve better advise from someone like, say Imran Khan. Maybe he did and didnt listen.

A very unsavoury episode and Inzy doesnt come out with credit. ICC and its selectors dont count for me.
