Useful knock at the end from Dexter to get Middlesex to a half-decent total. Still backing the T&T boys tho.

He any relation to Lord Ted, btw?

ooops and Murtagh strikes with a c&b as I type. 0/1.

Two wickets (both the Ganga brothers) to Malan in his first over. His leg-spin looks pretty decent, actually. Showing the full-time spinners how to do it anyway.

51/4 off 11. Still anyone's.

Neil Carter is absolutely useless. Can't bat against anything above his waist. Can't run. Can't catch. Can't bowl.

Must assume the loan signing was because they needed someone to finish off the pies at tea.

Some lovely bowling by Kartik in that over.

.

Murali Kartik has to be one of the biggest enigma's in Indian cricket.

Seen him bowl some absolutely beautiful spells both for Middlesex and India, yet his international record overall is decidedly modest.

Odd, for a guy who has pretty much all the technical attributes that you'd want a good left arm finger spinner to have.

Sir Allen, you have got to get those lights sorted out, mate.

That and the pitch.
He's too busy by the sound of it...
"There were a few gobsmacked faces. I did not see it because I was bowling at the time but I think Matt Prior had a look of shock on his face."
Stuart Broad on reports that Allen Stanford flirted with some of the players' wives and girlfriends

Never had a long enough run in the side to establish himself for mine. Rumour has it that he never really had the support of Ganguly either. Shame, because I think he's quality.

You wonder if he'll ever get another game though for India with young Pragyan Ojha starting to make his mark now......

I do think he is a guy that hasn't quite done justice to his talent - it could be a mental thing though. I've seen him get hit around when he bowls initially and really struggle to maintain focus and rhythm after that.

Stanford apology to England stars

Sir Allen Stanford has apologised for his part in an incident that upset the England players during their Super Series win against Middlesex on Sunday.
The series' backer was pictured sitting among the players' partners, with Matt Prior's wife Emily on his lap.
"He understood that the players were not particularly pleased with the incident," said a Stanford spokesman.
"He called both Kevin Pietersen and Matt Prior personally and they have accepted his apology."
The incident, which involved the 58-year-old putting his arms around some of the women, was shown on the big screen at the Stanford Stadium and televised. A number of England players, in the field at the time, found the episode inappropriate. Stuart Broad, who was bowling at the time, said: "There were a few gobsmacked faces when it popped up on the big screen."

Doesn't have the temperament. Scared of turning pitches. Yeah, great idea, disown the only thing that allows you to be a good bowler. 8-)
