Murali Kartik has to be one of the biggest enigma's in Indian cricket.

Seen him bowl some absolutely beautiful spells both for Middlesex and India, yet his international record overall is decidedly modest.

Odd, for a guy who has pretty much all the technical attributes that you'd want a good left arm finger spinner to have.

Murali Kartik has to be one of the biggest enigma's in Indian cricket.

Seen him bowl some absolutely beautiful spells both for Middlesex and India, yet his international record overall is decidedly modest.

Odd, for a guy who has pretty much all the technical attributes that you'd want a good left arm finger spinner to have.

Never had a long enough run in the side to establish himself for mine. Rumour has it that he never really had the support of Ganguly either. Shame, because I think he's quality.

You wonder if he'll ever get another game though for India with young Pragyan Ojha starting to make his mark now......

I do think he is a guy that hasn't quite done justice to his talent - it could be a mental thing though. I've seen him get hit around when he bowls initially and really struggle to maintain focus and rhythm after that.
