Who is this Kurtis Paterson. What do the experts here make of him (other than the obvious - that he is way better than Tendulkar)?
He keeps making starts and usually looks really good, then gets out between 50-70 al the time.

Basically he's an Australian domestic Joe Root.

SERIOUSLY. **** OFF SANGHA!!!! WHY EVEN ARE YOU? YOUR BALLS HAVEN'T DROPPED AND YOU'RE GETTING FAST TRACKED INTO TEAMS YOU AREN'T FIT TO CARRY WATER FOR. JUST GO AWAY AND MAKE SOME RUNS AGAINST GROWN MEN AND COME BACK IN THREE YEARS, YOU USELESS, USELESS ****. z
I was hoping for some vitriol but this exceeded my best expectations.

I see Pucovski also got out hooking. There needs to be a serious discussion about teaching batsmen to not hook off the line of their heads, he's just asking to get sconed again. I suppose 'muh bat speed' for T20 is more important.

So how long now until we recognise that Patterson is a serious talent? He's got to get a run in the test side at some point surely.

Yeah the technique of some of these Aussie players combing through is shocking. Feet planted in place playing wide outside the body.

Gone are the days when a CA XI would be 503/1 against the touring party

What's happened to Pradeep btw?

It was clear SL were going to target Pucovski on the short ball, I don't mean to be callous but if a fast bowler knows a batsman has had issues there of course they will give it a go.

Shouldn't be a problem against England though

I’m old fashioned, but I think too many batsmen set up with their feet too far apart in their stance these days. See it a lot through junior coaching and can’t say I like it at all.

And if a player does that they can't easily shift weight to go back or forward if necessary.

People should study Smith's technique. Moves his feet so well, takes no risks outside him missing on the inside edge and is perfectly balanced when he strikes the ball. And even his "weakness" encourages bowlers to bowl him fodder on his pads.

I have this discussion forcefully with burgeinho on a semi-regular basis, but he’s adamant the wider stance is both more comfortable and technically more proficient.

He’s averaging about seven this season, so as I said to him, I don’t think he knows sh*t from clay tbh.

Kids rebelling against their parents is a new thing.

I just noticed Patterson has a FC average of 41.00 and that is with a terrible conversion rate (26 fifties 6 hundreds). He'd be averaging 50 if he could have converted half those fifties

Wouldn't bet against either Neser or Tremain taking the long handle late in the day, probably won't work for long but will be handy for a few runs quickly
