Nortje has wheels. And if there's anything that we love in cricket it's pace. I do agree that he is not an opening bowler at the moment and from what I've seen of Dupavillion he has more of a skill set for Tests, but he can't stay on the park for long enough! And I'm a Dolphin supporter so my frustration is compounded.
Dupavillion has wheels as well. I think he has toned it back a bit with the injuries. But now getting covid at the wrong time...

I'm with you StephenZA. I want him in whites. Who do you think has more potential between Ngidi and Nortje?

I still can't get over my feeling that Nortje is Dupavillion with less movement...
Dupavillon should be who pushes Nortje. Coetzee/Ntanzi the others with a bit of shock pace but need to be comfortable in their bodies first. You are right on the ability to have a bit of skill sets the good v very good apart. Talking bowlers of higher speeds. Lesser speeds it is more obvious.

Stuurman/Sipamla/Pretorius/Jansen/Ntini are the bounce and seam bowlers. That is Ngidi's position.

Ngidi gets more movement through the air when available so more potential. Ngidi for such a big unit has a deciding lack of pace though.

He opened the batting in the first innings of that game too didn't he? And after keeping for 47 overs he got asked to bowl the 48th one, gave just 8 from it, and helped SA win the game.
I think he was probably only asked to bowl that over just because he could. The match was basically won by then, and if it had been tighter they might not have done it.

How many overs on the trot from Wiaan here ?
7th over now? I think its to much now. And also because Sipamla was chosen as a bowler and his confidence must have been better at the end of the last innings and now being treated as a liability. He bowled much better after his first opening spell.

Or Maharaj if they decide to go all seam. I hope they don't, but they went with five seamers last time at the Wanderers, so it's entirely possible they'll do so again.
I suspect it'll be a bit different now that Maharaj is quite comfortably the best bowler in the squad.

Sipamla in a nutshell in this spell so far. Lovely repeatable action driving a good line and length. And it is uncanny that his max always seems to be 138kph

If he can get his lows of 132-133 up to to 136kph and consistely in that 138kph zone I can take it with his accuracy and a bit of seam.

My favourite SA Schools in team in the last decade. 2016.

Main guys. Going to be a lot of Proteas here.

Back Row : Qeshile (Warriors), Breetzke (Warriors), Cohen (Cobras/Derbyshire), Mnyaka (Cobras)
Front Row : van Tonder (Knights), Mulder (c) (Lions & SA), Sipamla (Warriors/Lions/SA), de Swardt (Dolphins)

de Swardt chose cricket over rugby but Schreuder in the back row already plays professional rugby for the Stormers.

lol Hasaranga was struggling there. Not Lanka's day after all. Looks like it's going to be over by an innings. What a weird game.
