There is always a chance of rain. It has rained for the last 4 days here in Wellington at some stage of the day.

It appears that How will open the batting so im going to go with this team:

Fleming
How
Vincent
Fulton
Styris
McCullum
Cairns
Oram
Vettori
Mills
Bond

Supersub: Adams/Marshall

thats a pretty strong ODI side..particularly if How & Fulton hit the ground running.

Looks a good line up (even if Vincent isn't opening :-p). Looking foward to seeing How and Fulton bat...not as much as Vincent though. Can't wait until the 31st.

i don't think both How and Fulton will make the team. Marshall will get another chance IMO.

I think that's what the Herald said this morning, seem to remember it saying that probably only one of the two will be playing at Queenstown.

yeah, with Fulton also in the side a lot more pressure is put on Styris to stable the middle order. so give Marshall another chance and see if he can turn it around, which I think he can, specially against SL.

I don't think there will be room for Fulton, How AND Marshall, so Hamish will probably miss out. Very deep lineup again, considering the whole 13-man squad have scored first class centuries.
FC centuries mean nothing in the grand scheme of things though.

I wouldn't argue with you there Matt, but we'll miss his bowling that's for sure.

Couldn't we look at Styris playing instead of Oram?
Oh dear, I'm having to haul another poster out of the sarchasm... I might have to invest in a winch soon.

Well they don't, because of the varying levels of FC competitions around the world.

Why did you feel the need to make the comment though? All the person who made the original comment was saying was that every one of the 13 man squad can hold a bat. Despite what you think, a first class century for one of the bowlers in the black caps indicates that they have the ability to score a few runs.

There won't be any cricket at this stage. The weather is terrible all over the country. But that's no real surprise, it always seems to be bad over christmas time.

TBH i will be disappointed if we don't do sri lanka 4-0. Home advantage against an out of form opposition

Yep I am confident as well Zinzan. Remember you had a go at me for being pesamistic about our chances in South Africa, well this time i think we will go well.

I still don't like Fleming opening the innings. Vincent has played pretty well there in his last few matches so why not leave him there opening with Jamie How with Fleming at three?
