Would N.Z. cricket be making any money out of this game? Looking at the amount of people there they would have to charge about $10 for a drink to even come close.

How come you didn't seem so bored when NZ were batting?
Because I thought that the Black Caps were batting extremely well (for a change)... In fact, it was just that the pitch was so damn flat and boring!

Anyway.... NZ to bat again shortly. Let's hope that they can knock up a few quick runs, and that Fleming sets a realistic target for the Sril Lankans to chase tomorrow.

WTF to Franklin....waits till the opposition has a massive total then he goes nuts and gets 4 wickets, no wonder his average seems disproportionally good compared to his performances

I'm not watching so whats the wicket doing? anything? Still a road huh.

Flag declaring, if NZ did that SL have some very destructive batsmen who could go at 6+ per over in a canter . Then as soon/if they lost a few wickets they would simply stonewall to the draw. Cant see how a declaration /run chase could work for NZ here. Fleming will just set an impossible target and this game will grind out to a draw

2nd test/Green Top/Lets duke it out!

hey Chipmunk is that all you got? Move along son yo outta yo league fo real :p

Best option for a result is that Sri Lanka roll the kiwis for 200 or so :p

That would be nice but i can't see it happen on this pitch

They're talking about the pitch being timeless test match material.

yeh, Smith was talking about the match where England were 650/5 needing 30 more but then having to call a draw so they could catch the boat home.

I still think their is a chance of a result if the Kiwi openers and some of the other Kiwi batsmen didn't bat so slowly. New Zealand scored at 3.5 and we scored at nearly 4 with Atapattu scoring a century, one of the slwoest batters in the world. The Kiwis scored too slowly on the first day and if they didn't then there would still be a chance of a result, but now we have to how for some sporting declaration and no rain.

Yup its always NZ who bats slow?
Srilanka batted at a slower rate overall didn't they and that from being in total control at 353/3.

I would like a good pitch but if there is choice between this and the pitches vs india in 2003 i'd take the pitches vs india any day.

Good fightback from NZ, Was suprised we bowled them out for 498, but as I saifd the srilankan tail is a bit long.

It will still be a draw.

If you take out a couple of batsmen, they both batted slow TBH.

Well if you look at FC averages then our tail isn't that long, but they had a bad day.

How strong is your FC cricket though?

Well the pitches are too bowler friendly, but it is probably a bit below NZ. We have this new FC competition where the top players a split into 4 sides and that probably as strong as NZ if not stronger, it needs to be expanded but.

It cant be that flash then because NZ domestic cricket at the moment is a joke.

The standard is terrible

The standard is not that high in the Priemer League, but the Inter-Province is quite high

i wish the kiwis would start playing a few more shots im bored

U cant really blame the two openers though.. they are not established in the team so therefore don't want to risk getting out

Different type of players though arent they
But two an over, that is too slow in anyones books. If you look at Sri Lanka's two slowest batsmen Atapattu and Thilan they go at 40 S/R.

[Edit] i guess their setting a foundation and it looks like another 50 run partnership, so maybe im being to hard on them.
