Nice to see Kulasekara get his first Test wicket, not too many highlights apart from that fro Sri Lanka. Hopefully this pitch is just a really flat pitch and Sri Lanka just haven't bowled crap. It looks pretty flat, but i've seen too many games were a pitch looks flat but it just turns out that the away side wasn't using the conditions properly.

Interesting to see where Kumar bats consider his kept for 130 odd over. I would bat him at 6 or give Dilshan the gloves now as we have next to no chance of bowling them out before they declare. Even if we do get quick wickets it wouldn't make difference. Hopefully the Kiwi keep batting and declare at 600 and find at that this pitch is really flat and leave them not enough time to get 20 wickets. If i was them i would let McCullum get his hundred or get out then declare.

SL are going to struggle to save this Test from here on !! Unless it rains out a couple of days or the batsmen play themselves in !

500 is a solid match winning score IMO. And Batting 4th can be difficult (or even 3rd if they don't get over the follow on target ). Kiwis will push for the follow on ! (and possibly assisted by Trigger happy Umps) :D
Familiar with the phrase 'broken record'?

I'd use those phrases if my team was at the wrong end of the scoreboard as well. Your ''contributions'' are just getting a little repetitive.

I am Dreading the Bucknor/Hair combo ...... they will surely stick it to the undercooked Sri Lankans. Going by the evidence of the significant letoff's NZ have been given so far ! :@

Maybe that just shows the one-way nature of the umpiring so far.

You didn't touch a nerve - it's boring, that's all.

And it's not fact, it's your conspiracy theory.

Anyway, McCullum goes LBW for 99, so we're all square. :D

Am I the only one who thinks Darrell Hair has been assigned for this Test (going by his past record ) against Sri Lanka with the intention of getting Malinga Reported ? :D :D
Now, that's just being silly!

It's great to see Franklin starting to look good at international level. The fact that he's now scoring runs with the bat will hopefully help his confidence with the ball...we desperately needed him to come through considering Tuffey went M.I.A.

At least, it seems that NZ have not been mentally destroyed by Australia..they've come out & scored over 500 runs which is a good sign.

The Sri Lankan fielding is extremely poor, they are doing themselves no favours in this test.

There have been complaints that the umpring has been poor. Good sides will always create more opportunities & take them if an umpire makes an error e.g Australia.
The difference with Sri Lanka is that they've had those opportunities but have blown them...badly.

I agree.. Sri Lanka were nothing short of a disgrace in the field.. I would safely say that the cricket team I play for are a better fielding unit than what Sri Lanka showed out there in the NZ first innings.

Must be emaressing for Sri Lankan fans to watch their team field in such a way..

I have to agree with u the fielding has been a lot worse then the umpiring. Our fielding has let us down more then some 50/50 umpiring decisions. We seem to always be making the same mistakes in the field over and over again. We will never be a good side in Test both home and away unless we improve our fielding 200% maybe 500%. It been f***ings crap their no other way to explain it.
