I'm sure the experts would know if the levels have dramatically increased in a short period of time... they have sophisticated equipment to measure the levels.

Once again, I'm not claiming to know either way, just a comment that it seems strange if the pollution is suddenly causing illnesses, when I can't recall overseas Dehli daredevil players having issues.
I think it's just a case of different people having different reactions. I mean it's not like every single SL player went down. The 3 badly affected appear to be DDS, Gamage and Lakmal. The others wearing the masks and getting O2 was probably a precaution and maybe a few ghost scares

I would put it down to something like a body's reaction to altitude. Some people are fine with it..others not so much.

I reserve the right to recall any comments on air pollution being a problem for us if these 2 end up tonning up.

I won't say so. They still have some good players. They just had a decent series against Pak and as the previous poster put it, they whitewashed Aus in their conditions. The dominant Australia and WI teams won against everyone and just because of that, we can't say all other teams in their time are pretty bad teams.

This Indian team IN India is comparable to those teams in terms of absolutely dominating the opponents.
Mm, it's more that in between those good series they have been absolutely godawful. Against England, for example, where in the last few series there they had put up some fight.

The hatred I feel for our slip cordon is overhwelming. There's seemingly a new guy at first/second slip every match while Rahane, who shits all over the rest of the team when it comes to slip catching, takes turns standing at gully and mid on. Shastri is an absolute ****ing moron.

This is why we need Rahane. Rohit can **** out of the slips along with his best buddy.

Bit harsh, they probably couldn't see the ball through the smog:ph34r:

How many times has Mathews been dropped in this innings?

Good to see SL grind it out for a change. Need to keep going.

Wow. Honestly cannot recall the last time Mathews tonned up. Well done Rohit.

I think he made a century in the 3rd Test in 2015 when they briefly threatened to chase down that score in the 4th innings. Great match that was.

I found it a little poor that the commentators and general BCCI sentiment towards this has been that SL was acting over the top wearing masks when a couple of their players had gone down vomiting.

They made it sound like SL deliberately wanted to stop play because they've had enough of the hammering by the Indian batsman. Really?

I know this SL team is pretty **** at the moment but that's a big leap to take and I personally found it pretty annoying that this is what the general sentiment was. We were in Pakistan just a few months ago when none of the bigger teams would even consider going there to put things into perspective (whether they wanted to or not is another matter)

Clearly a couple of guys struggled and threw up and then team decided to wear the masks as a precaution. Weren't some RT games called off too yesterday?

I wonder if the BCCI made the SLC aware of this issue because I am fairly certain no one in the SLC would have done any sort of due deligence on this sort of thing. v India is $$$ that's probably where the buck stopped for SLC.
To be fair, SL made Randiv bowl a no-ball so that Sehwag wouldn't get a 100 in an ODI once. They have a record of being unsportsmanlike ****s.

What is wrong with India and the slips cordon. You see a new guy everytime a new spell is bowled by a pacer.

3 catches were dropped in the 2nd slip by three different players.Dhawan the first,Kohli the second and Rohit the third. This is piss poor from India really. No continuity from them whatsoever.Dhawan,Rohit are definitely not natural catchers.

Even if their bowlers look threatening in SA,they won't get wickets if they keep catching like this.I wonder what was the actual reason. Is it because of KL?.They need a proper slip cordon.Definitely not the no.1test team if you don't have a sound slip cordon.

Does seem a wee bit soft from the Lankans on the face of it, considering I can't recall another away side complaining of pollution levels playing in Dehli, in internationals or in IPL games, but I might be mistaken.
The IPL happens in the summer. Its different in the winters.

It's absolutely insane. I can't understand what they're thinking. Keep Rahane in there and give Vijay a long-ish run. Kohli and Dhawan don't deserve to be anywhere near the slip cordon... dropped too many over the last few years to suddenly turn it around.

What is the rationale, seriously? Have they not talked to any good slips fielders before? Any would tell you it's a position where you need continuity and practice if you aren't a natural.

Kohli's ego probably.

Weird that Rahane isn't there considering they've spoken of him as being the best slip fielder in the team before.

This rubbish will cost us big time when we go overseas.
