SL are a pretty poor team. They played okay here and credit to them but this is the first pitch weve seen on offer in an Indian test match in like forver, exposed the poor Indian batting lineup, barring Kohli the Indian batting leaves much to be desired.

though expect a road of a pitch for the next test....

BCCI have been preparing the odd seam-friendly wicket in every series. 2nd Test at Eden Gardens against NZ last year, Dharamshala against Australia, Bangalore pitch had plenty of variable bounce that assisted quicks, and even Mohali against England last year. There's been a good mix of roads, dustbowls, slow turners that break up late, and seaming wickets.

Greentops can backfire pretty spectacularly though.

I don't know exactly how the rankings work. But this time we are winning series by good margins as well, so that's got to count for something.

We were pretty competitive on most of those tours in 2014...that shouldn't be good enough anymore. It'll be pretty disappointing if they don't get some actual wins this time.

I am not sure about Australia, getting 20 Australian wickets at home on roads might be beyond our bowlers unless Umesh/Shami can deliver a career defining performance. Our bowlers will be more effective in SA/Eng/NZ though, would be disappointed if we don't get a win in each.
