Stop Sweeping Geraint!
I agree . There is an underlying campaign (or a trend noted ) by some posters to slate Gerraint Jones for his keeping as well as Sangakkara . (although this series they have concentrated on Geraint Jones ) and you can see who these people are if you follow several of these threads.
I guess there must be a hidden agenda for these posters !!

Edit : Didn't read your post clearly . Thought you said "Stop slating Gerraint "
Hence my reply which still stands with regard to Gerraint .

Precisely, there's a strong arguement that he was out first ball, but not given...
Well there was strong arguments (might I say far far stronger than this one) that Jonathon Lewis was out very early to a huge nick which no one could mistake or not hear but for a deaf Rudi Koertsen who had lost his hearing Aid !!

There were stronger arguments that England should have not had any Centurions at Lords given Trescothick was out several times (at least 3 ) and KP was out both at Lords and Edgbaston .
Similarly Murali's missed LBW to Liam Plunkett and Collingwood yesterday . ( Darrell is thick and unfotunate though it may be SL know we have to live with this fool umpiring our games and that we won't get any unless they are 200% out )
But we have learnt to live with those because you have to .

But not a grossly shocking no brainer decision like Sangakkara decision , where any FC Umpire with a reasonable experience would have been smart enough to make the right decision .

If you take KP out, I would say this England Team is as good/bad as SriLanka. I am surprised that the English fans hope to retain the ashes with this team. ;)
Well its missing several key players, so its really not "this Team" , but rather "this Team" plus a few others (key players ) including Simon Jones, Michael Vaughan, Steve Harmison , Ashley Giles etc.

Well just wait till the next ashes, you will know how much sense my post made.:)
Can we hold you to that ? Say how about an avatar change to " I was wrong " or "England really deserve the Ashes " or something like that ?

Lewis escapes a blatant edge behind, and Hoggard cops a stinker.
Hoggard's was another poor decision . Perhaps Darrell trying to even out mistakes prreviously made by himself and Koertsen.

Read WPDavid's post. I think he said it very well.

YES !! If England Beat Australia in the next ashes (with or without Jones/Harmy/Giles/Vaughan), I will have whatever Avtar Neil Pickup decides.

We will let Neil decide what avatar change he wants , when he comes on line later tonight (my time).

I have noticed you keep rubbishing people who do not hold your view and you stupidly believe by using some strong language your view is more important than others !!

And this May I suggest is not the first time you have said pretty stupid things in reply to my posts , without justifying your rubbish ok .

Over the years Sri Lankans have had quite a lot of rough decisions which have been pretty one sided and quite clearly biased from Hair and Harper . Any one who has watched this series thoroughly can vouch for that (with regard to Hair ).

So if you want to have a discussion on this come back and post a decent reply using proper language , other wise pi*s off and find someone else to bite , ok !!
Oh yes, now I realise, how could I doubt you. Its all clear now, of course Darrel Hair gave Sangakkara out to ensure that Gilchrist's average is forever better than Sangakkara's.

My mistake. 8-)

brilliant work by our bowlers to restrict England to 229, which they made with the help of the umpires. Malinga was superb, England batsmen had trouble facing him. If we can get around 300 we can make a match out of this. (that's a big IF there)

Yeah Sri Lanka have managed to drag themselves back into this match, but they're in a position where they can win the game this time instead of just being able to save the game.

Well done Lankans.

Why is Naseer Hussain forever talking about this winter's Ashes.

We have an even match on our hands, Malinga is bowling some good stuff to Collingwood and Hussain is talking about the Ashes ticket sales:wacko:

I'd say they're warmish favourities already. Any lead in excess of 200 will be tricky with Murali bowling. The only thing slightly in our favour is that we might begin our chase on a third day pitch. Not that Murali needs a Bunsen to be a huge factor anyway tho....

Great work by Sri Lanka. What a massive upset it would be if they could manage to draw this series. Murali on a Day 5 pitch is dangerous as anything. Especially one on which England could only just manage to chase 100 on last year with Warne spinning a web...C'mon Lanka.

Hmm, Sri Lanka's best batsman against an England tailender - no difference there.

And the only reason that was even mentioned was because you were complaining about his dismissal when if the umpiring had been 100% spot on he would've been out 1st ball, thus rendering any complaints pretty futile.

It was a hard edge to spot, hence the umpire didn't give it - to call it a shocking no brainer suggests umpires need superhuman powers.

Actually, no, one guess. It's easy.
Chaminda Vaas and Jon Lewis?
