Vaguely interesting to look at the players' year of debut (well the game is a bit dull at the moment):

1992, 1994, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2005, 2006

1998, 2000, 2000, 2003, 2004, 2004, 2005, 2005, 2006, 2006, 2006

The first set is Sri Lanka, you'd have thought that they should be peaking at this sort of time with that lot especially in contrast to England.

They've just shown footage of his limping off on Sky... no further news yet.

Pietersen dropped at short fine leg by Jayawardene. SL playing on his patience, and mine too.
"Limping off" doesn't sound so bad.

150 for Pietersen.

The march on continues.

On a stupid and personal note, I hope KP goes mental soon. Might make things more interesting for people lucky enough to watch it. :p

Oh and congrats to Pietersen on the 1,000 run mark.

And Strauss for his 2,000 yesterday. :)

Because I'm bored, I'll try & remember who made their debut in which year...

98= Flintoff, 2000= Trescothick & Hoggard, 2003= Collingwood, 2004= Jones & Strauss, 2005= Pietersen & Plunkett, 2006= Cook, Panesar & Mahmood. I think......

Perhaps concerned about the forecasts for the weekend?
Forecasts in this country are dodgy at best, Flintoff has now made the final session longer (~ 3 hours at the rate England bowl). It would have only took another 8 overs at most to add 50 runs - this will be a damn sight faster than if/when England have to bat again. Also the follow-on mark is now more gettable, which will be more of a factor if a fair amount of time is lost to rain than batting for another 8 overs or whatever.
